I crossed over into the US on the first day it was legalized and the signs were up. I kinda assumed it was a temporary measure lol.

Our airports have stash bins for people departing Canada to leave their weed behind, since I guess some assume 'if it's legal here... ..' ??

So do we now need an "Official Hallucinogenic Fungi" thread?

Oakland in California decriminalizes magic mushrooms and peyote

SAN FRANCISCO – First pot, now ‘shrooms. Oakland City Council in California on Tuesday voted unanimously to decriminalize hallucinogenic fungi, otherwise known as “magic mushrooms.”

The vote makes Oakland the second U.S. city to decriminalize the natural hallucinogens after Denver decriminalized them on May 8.

The city council’s vote directed law enforcement to cease investigating and prosecuting individuals for using or possessing drugs sourced from plants, cacti and – most commonly – mushrooms that contain the hallucinogen psilocybin.

Denver’s historic move last month was the result of a narrowly won popular vote. Oakland's public safety commission advanced the resolution to the city council last week.

Advocates argued that naturally-occurring drugs such as mushrooms and cacti have been used by various cultures for hundreds of years for everything from spiritual quests to helping battle psychiatric imbalances such as post-traumatic stress syndrome. They say decriminalizing mushrooms would free law enforcement to tackle higher-priority issues.

Oakland councilman Loren Taylor added several amendments to the resolution offering guidance for users, which were accepted by the council.

They included suggestions that adults who chose to use hallucinogenic fungi begin with very small amounts so that they can see how they react before they use larger amounts. Another was that users seek expert guidance and consider having a trusted friend with them who is sober during their journey.

Prior to the vote, more than 30 people lined up to offer their testimony about the resolution.

Most were supporters, saying that these plant medicines, as they called them, were helpful for trauma, depression, addiction and anxiety. Many described years of addiction and pain before they began using these hallucinogens and found relief.

One speaker was Susana Eager Valadez, director of the Huichol Center for Cultural Survival and Traditional Arts. It supports the people of the Wixárika tribe in Mexico, who use peyote in their religious and cultural ceremonies. She noted that indigenous cultures use hallucinogenic plants in a ritual way, not casually, and are guided by shamans and elders, she said. Americans can learn from their example to create their own rituals.

Or you could just eat a couple of grams and pound beers all night! Laugh at your stupid friends and whatnot. No spirit guide needed. Ever notice how easy it is to drink beer while on boomers?

But it still gives you hangovers just as bad, or maybe worse since you end up pounding.

I may have known people who may have used mini-doses of Vitamin A to increase their beer drinking stamina. I always thought it was a waste of perfectly good "vitamins".

It is also possible to channel your powers and get a 6 pack buzz on 3/4 of a beer. Much more economical and the next day is better. The mind is a powerful thing.

Oregon tincture law is way better than the edible situation.
A commercial version is available with a gram of edible oil in organic grain spirits. Two ingredients only. ‘Friend’ thinks it tases like the essence of train wreck and that it is kinda harsh.

I've become a big fan of the tincture. You can really dial in the dosage.

A local guy, who I don't know personally, has been pushing the envelope too far with the weed scene. He's been making edibles and I don't know what else. I've partaken in his creations and they are fantastic. He just got busted by the DEA. Wife and kids. No bueno. I feel bad for the guy, but he was playing with fire. He could have moved 15 minutes to the north or south and would have been in a much better situation legally, although still against the law if he wasn't on the up and up.

DEA for home baking sound pretty fucked.
Seems like people might revolt if that happened here now.

Not even 20 years ago they invaded my state sending shock troops into legal head shops. They called it operation pipe dream. Said they were trying to stop the interstate bong trade.

People that worked security at the airport said most of those guys brought a nice hand blown piece home as a souvenir.

Tommy Chong went to jail for interstate sales of paraphernalia under "operation pipedream" <roll eyes>

Jack beat me to it. Many college memories...things just taking over the brain. just laughing at pot or beers. "I'm in charge now." But here's the thing.

When everythin is legal, what fun will college be?

I lived in Hawaii in the 70's. Every harvest the local cops got new trucks and boats. They burned the stalks and cured the buds. Helis on the landing pads got shot up all the time. I sailed in food and supplies to 14 people growing on the north shore of Molokai in Pelekunu Bay. When the cops raided the op, they came in choppers and the Cape Newhagen, a Coast Guard cutter with .50 caliber guns and a cannon on the deck. Bet they coulda retired. No one got caught though, it was fairly impenetrable from either sea or land. Hands down the best bud I've ever seen. Pink green nugs as big as bread loaves.

Not even close. It will only ever be a small market. CBD sales are like decaf coffee, you can get it at every store but they will never sell nearly as much as they do regular.

I agree with splat. Cbd is going way more mainstream. Can’t sell pot at cvs Kroger etc and it’s legal on a fed level now so less stigma.
