Yeah, that too. More recently, they were the official car of dogs for while.

If Toyota still made a real wagon I'd probably buy one (former Tercel Wagon and all-trac owner here)

Over the years it's been two Outbacks, one Impreza, and a BRZ for us. Only one Outback remains (wife drives it). Overall reliability and cost of ownership was great on all of them, but I don't see us getting another Subaru.

Yeah, bucking the V6 trend. I might so save up and get a Mercedes just for that.

I would prefer naturally aspirated and forego some HP and fuel efficiency but that can't happen

Love a straight 6. So smooth. Go buy yourself a good condition e30 before they go insane price wise. Straight 6, 5 spd manual, limited slip...

    Oh wait...
    Too late.
    170k miles? $17k? Damn...

E46's are dime a dozen, provide the silky (slow) i6 feel and handle very, very well. Halfway reliable too

Minus the cooling system that can explode at any minute and grenade the motor, and consistent CAB failures, and just getting the windows to open is a gamble. Otherwise the E46 is a great car.

I bought my E30 seven years ago for 2k. I was offered 12k last August at the local cars and coffee deal. Insane. The wannabee grown up yuppies want these things bad right now. I mean they are great cars for a couple grand, but 10k plus and they start to have some flaws that the cost of entry makes more pronounced ya know?

If you're handy, the expansion tank isn't too big a deal. If you're not handy, owning an e46 is gonna cost you far too much money. But yeah, you found the other half to halfway reliable lol

I would've taken the 12k and ran. Holy shit

    Pics please.

I had two different E46. Love em. Gotta maintain the cooling system.

I tell myself this is a lifetime ownership car, but I just took her out of storage and now need to replace the power steering rack. Some days I do wish I took that 12k.

Looks sharp. Yeah, my little convertible had the steering rack replaced about 6 months ago.

Those zhp E46 are nice. But the e34 540 is nicer. Faster too.[emoji16]

I’ve had my zhp for almost 10 years and it is the best bmw I’ve ever owned —- but I’ll admit to a little 540 envy.

I have an e46 M3 right now. I love the car but will most likely be selling it. Will probably never have a car that handles so well. Just can't own so many cars and I really have no actual reason to own it other then it is a really cool car.

    Venza?

We had a 97 OB (that I should never have sold), a 13 Crosstrek that bored the ever loving shit out of me so I traded it 2 years after I got it, have an 06 OB sitting in the driveway because I can't get the hood open to charge the battery to bring it to my buddy to help me change the completely dry rotted and leaking rear brake lines, a 12 Forester that runs great and my 13 BRZ that's been more reliable than I expected it to be. I'm hoping that when the time comes for the next vehicles we find something other than Subaru but overall they haven't been terrible. My wife has one significant requirement for her next car, it has to be manual like her currently dead OB.

I gotta get that 06 OB functional soon. Anyone want to come help get the hood open and the brake lines changed?

dude, smash the grill and stick a screwdriver in the latch.

You can charge it through the cigarette lighter or jump the wires on the trunk light with drip charger.
