Reconsidering selling my van. Just finished an 8 day trip, skied seven smaller ski hills, overnight temps below 0 a couple nights, ski hill parking lot super moon views, 13.5 mpg, two hot springs, many new breweries, no issues parking at the resorts, and finally made it back to the single T bar hill I learned to ski at. First night down by the river about 30 minutes from the hill. Look at all those wickets not on the Ikon list.

This post made me go back and find your FS post - is your Craigslist ad still live anywhere? Looking for the rest of the photos... Since I need a new used truck, this has me tempted to sell the old one + camper.

Just updated it. Still on the fence so asking a little high. If you're interested, get ahold of me and I can give you the details.

Been hankering for a road trip but the skiing’s been too damn good to leave Tahoe. So mostly been using the van to stay near Mammoth. Got the Webasto heater tuned for high elevation use. I don’t think twice about camping in sub zero F nighttime temps.

The Aluminess front bumper has a nice flat area to stand on that really helps when I’m removing snow from the roof. I’m using a long handled brush rather than a rake.

good experiences with Aluminess? Thinking about one of their genny boxes.

In other news, Seattle area mags, if this doesn't have any major issues, it's a rare find (in terms of value): https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/r...830408606.html

Aluminess is good. Have seen a few aluminum weld failures but not many. Very pricey but good quality.

Too many pages of tiny type.
Will it effect ski area parking?

If you pretend to be homeless, you can park more places!

Mattig, yeah Aluminess is a pretty good company to work with. They have a good reputation for warranty issue handling.

At the start of my current 7 week road trip a lady at the Utah Park and Ride asked me if I was living in my camper and I said well yeaaaaah and then she tried to give me $20.

Later that week someone called the cops and told them that I had been living there for 2 weeks. The cop laughed when I told him that i was actually a ski tourist on a 7-8 week ski trip and had only been there a few days.

Thought this was good blog documenting a conversion of a Transit, they talk about all aspects of what they did.

I still maintain that old and cheap is the way to go. Then you can actually use the thing rather than working all the time to pay for it.Click image for larger version.

Don’t forget to bring your complete tool kit, and lots of critical spare parts.

Meh. Simple engines. Easy to work on. Plenty 4x4 Winnie’s on the redneck riviera.

But instead of 150k on a sprinter, this 4x4 beast is worth 140k asking

And you could truly live in it year round without the van life crampage
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

What the hell kind of dentists are you hanging around with that are spending $150k on a sprinter? That's some orthodontist shit right there.

Pretty sure they don't bother with rv's. They just buy a house wherever they're traveling to.
