interesting idea, but perhaps too much complexity / not required functionality for the majority of users making it a risky / potentially cost prohibitive investment for bootmakes - no?

Read this and contemplated....figured out a solution...simple, just duct tape on a heat pack u use for gloves/boots and elastomer durometer rating should remain stable...figure out how much 'heat shielding' you need to transfer just the right amount of heat to keep it in the 'optimum' temp range?

Very good point...the point gignoux snowboard boot is a +/- $1 800 usd boot.
Maybe i'm just an O.ski.D outlier at the extreme end of the bell curve who demands perfection and would be willing to pay $ for it?
Taking a break from bending more tip rocker into my Armada JJ 2.0's... stock splay too low, was stabbing into a little breakable rain crust layer yesterday on little lumps and bumps...be the change you want to ski.

I had a pair of those Dynafits with the springs at the back and a knob to adjust them way back in the day. There was a whole bunch of friction at the cuff hinge, the springs may not have been in the right tension range and I found them under whelming
Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
What terrain were u skiing those in though, XXX'er? inbounds groomers, bumps or did ya test em out in backcountry specific snow on fat skis? Different times, different factors, just sayin' if 'test' conditions were not of today's context.
For example, in the era of skinny long skis, ya kinda really needed to drive the skis...these days with rockered fat, (sometimes) shorter and wider, you kinda wanna more massage the skis to do their own thing...for this to be optimal from a control and sensation standpoint, i just kinda think having that adjustable flex system would be cat's ass...maybe not springs, but sumthin. Just throwin' out ideas. Maybe using the housing for re engineering an elastomer based flex control system could be incorporated into a new paradigm shifting design. Just one factor of many. Dunno how the springs skied, but, I can imagine they gave some 'rebound' and were more lively and reactive. Personally, I'm not a fan of boots or skis that 'rebound' or 'react' to skiing input. I want 'em damp, predictable and 'boring'; I wanna be control on of the gear, not dynamically reacting to it. But I'm kinda old so there's that.
Regarding the friction in the hinge...maybe that's before the era of bushings installed in the cuff pivots to induce less friction/stiction into the coupling? Dunno, just sayin' as a factor to consider?

too bad about the Lupo Air not being a real 3 piece boot. Here is some info, that needs google translate, but is informative. Looks like some good offerings. https://www.backline-magazin.com/mar...hts-2019-2020/
My German is mediocre, but I found two interesting little nuggets in there...
"Die gesamte Lupo-Linie besteht aus den Modellen Lupo Air 130, Lupo Air 110, Lupo Factory, Lupo 130 C, Lupo AX 120, Lupo AX 105 W, Lupo AX 90 sowie zwei weiteren „Heavy Duty (HD)“ Modellen für intensivsten Einsatz: Lupo Pro HD und Lupo AX HD."
Lupo Pro HD
Lupo AX HD
Heavy PU Lupos? Like the good ole days? I like the sound of that!
Take this Dynastar fanbois - the new Proto Factory

Ew.
This years graphic is x1000 better.
Does that say Menace Proto?
What year is it?
bumps are for poor people
PSA - 2nd tracks in Millcreek (SLC) had two pairs of the PRotos. The deal didn’t seem sensational to me but if they are hard-ish to get your hands on a pair it might be a good option.

Menace PROTO is the Factory Proto.
Legend series remains, new graphics.
Looks wide, 3D Ridge, maybe a wider 100Eight or something like that ?
My guess is that is one of the new Mantra skis. Aren’t they expanding the line just like Nordica Enforcers? They look just a little wider than the bindings.

In constant pursuit of the perfect slarve...
it's the "freestyle" line up. there is at least 1 more ski in the line, think it will be a updated Slicer but not 100%.
If it's a slightly fatter version, that should be exciting.
Figured Permin would get a skinnier ski made for his style of skiing.
Hopefully we'll know more soon.
