well of course some people should not be allowed to own tools which flys in the face of this whole thread
but the caveat should probably have been that the average dentist might strip the holes out of a ski with a power tool. A real tech learns pretty quick how much force to use or he spends alot of time fixing what he broke, also mounting a bunch of skis in an 8hr shift by hand would really tear up your hands ... so using a drill makes sense
as for reusing the hole if I was going to possibly reuse holes in a ski I would epoxy in plastic plugs which would seal them from water 100%, then if I wana re-use them I would drill with a small bit and/or pull out with a DW screw, or you can just drill & screw right into them
reusing a hole I would use 24 hr epoxy, definatly don't overtighen and when the epoxy drys it should be good as the original mount
to permanently fill a screw hole I recently discovered that bamboo barbecue skewers are > golf tee's which i always found needed to be sanded down to fit, they are a better size also easier/cheaper to find in the supermarket
