Agreed, so many sweet Squaw lines gets mogulled up quick. If you keep the skis, then yeah, you can still have fun at Squaw by focusing on the smoother high-speed runouts that tend to get a traverse track instead of a ton of mogul-forming fall-line traffic---I can think of about 7 such wide-open paths/runouts in Squaw where that tends to happen instead of full-on moguls (hint: not the KT zone).

Yeah, those skis should be fun on Mammoth's wide-open terrain.

That said, IMO, I don't think it means you have a self-destructive "grass-is-always-greener problem" if you can find someone to do a simple straight-up trade for a 1.5x or 1x SG. But yeah, maybe it's a problem if you repeatedly accept a loss on such trades (like repeatedly giving up on a $900 ski, then selling it for $600, then buying a new substitute for $900).

I mainly ride at northstar, but just got a Transition Sentinel for trail riding. It’s only making me obsess and overthink about gear more. Trying to find the perfect mountain bike started me up with all this craziness.

That can help a little. If you really want to take your head out of the game, you really need to have a kid. Seven years ago, I knew a ton about a ton of skis. Now I only know what is under my feet. I think my newest pair of skis is five years old, and my kid is seven.

Go to Mammy on them this winter. Way smoother than Squaw. And way more room than Alpine.

How do the 196 Bodacious compare? I assume they are better on firm then SGs, but not as good in deep chunk or for surfing around? 32m radius on bodacious should still be good in difficult 3D snow, similar to Praxis Rx.

I thought the Blizzards were flat camber for some reason, like the OG Cochise were. I was ready to buy a pair last season, thinking they were a bigger 191 Katana, until I saw they had camber underfoot. Now they intrigue me again, because they seem like bigger, metal praxis Rx.

I had some 186 og Bodacious as a follow up to katanas, and they might have been the best dd’s i ever had. Smooth, damp, heavy. I’ve got no time on any version of the goat though.

196 Bodes and 193 SGs... The Bodes are not flat camber, but it is very minimal... The SGs def have more camber... I will say this - the profile of the Bode is pure perfection... They will absolutley rail groomers, but you can throw them sideways with ease and keep them there as long as you want... I went std layup on the 193 SGs as I was looking more for fun and float and it was achieved... My guess is the Bodes flex is somewhere between the 1.5 and Aver... The only other ski I own that is as stiff or close to it is my 196 Renegades... Those bad boys now sit since getting the Bodes...

I don't DD my Bo's - but they come out often.
I got the OG Bo's 2-3 years ago, brand new, for <$200.
While I'd love to try the SG, the cheap Bo's, at one third the price, pretty much seal it for me.
[And this coming from a guy who is three miles from ON3P - Google says I could walk there in under an hour. ]

And I'm not sure about the new Bo's but the old ones are nearly flat. A tiny amount of weight flattens them easily. I'd say flat underfoot, in practical terms.

I said a few comments over the course of a year, and it turned into a huge ordeal. I didnt bellyache for two years. A lot of you guys misunderstand me, and more importantly the things I say, and I could really care less at this point. I’m not trying to be some bad ass on here, I am searching for ski perfection. This is my last response about this.

191 Monster 108s are much burlier than Aevergoats. I plan on buying 196 Bodes as well. I want the stiff skis that are more traditional.

I will own the fact that I dont need powder skis to be this burly. But I dont want much softer either. 1.5x would do, that was all I ever imagined.

I want to be completely transparent on here.

I wont admit to what your saying though. Aevergoats are not “too much” ski. I have never skied an On3p that is “unforgiving”.. I dont want to sway any bigger dudes away from Aever, because they are great skis. On3p wouldnt have made them if they sucked.

I have other reasons to get rid of SG’s that I did not mention. I dont enjoy Asym skis as much as regular sidecut skis. For a powder ski, I think I want something wider. Other reasons as well.

Your skiing will become much more locked-in and natural if you can ski the same set for like 100 days or more. Try it!
