The Rx is the only inbounds ski on my radar for 2018/19.

If anyone is selling one of the longer lengths (high 180s), HMU!

Mine are going 300 days before they get hung up on the shop wall.

I always think about all these other models, MVP, Protest, Powderboards, GPO, etc. However the smart decision for me next year, will be a pair of middle weight Rx for touring.

When you capitalize the T, it looks like a workout supplement.

Will the ProTests boost Beetle testosterone?

It’s how it’s spelled not how I spell it. It’s so good the T has to be capitalized.

On the website there is no capital. But I’ll take your word for it, that is their true name. Praxis/GNC ProTest

They are 187 MVPs. Stock build- flex 4, eduro core, no carbon

They look perfect. That topsheet combo is one of the classiest I've seen.

Is it just me or did Keith tame the rocker lines a little bit on the new MVP? Seems a lil flatter than mine

For the record those builds are class to the death

They definitely have less rocker than my old MVPs, but they haven't been skied yet. They will break in as they're flexed.

Cherry veneer on the MVP and olive ash on the skinny GPO.

They worked if you stay balanced. But ARGs had a small section of straight underfoot. Technically not full R/R, but as close as you can get. Praxis’ own description of the PBs says that they improved the hardpark performance over the years, leading me to believe they also included a straight section underfoot??

Armada ARGs were much beefier than JJs or Bubbas. They were fast skis for 185s. Fairly heavy(for an armada) too. They were so easy to ski though, they felt like rollerblades. The Donner parties were heavy too. I feel like manufacturers can go super beefy on R/R builds, since they ski like snowblades through pow and chunk.

I think next year Ima go with some 200cm heavy core #4 carbon, nylon, 3DPBs. 200cm snollerblades, that weigh 2650g/ski. The ultimate deep mank masterblasters! Im going to spend this season on skis under 120mm underfoot. So when I get on a super fatty the following season, I’m reawakened.

Anyone own or heard of builds of +10 protests or heavy core PBs?

Their is no need to build a +10 Protest. It is perfect as is. The ONLY way I could see going +10 for a Protest is if you got to ski multiple feet deep of interior BC 2% pow every day for season on end and needed the float, event then the regular Protest would do just fine. I skied the 196 Protest two winters ago when Jackson got 650in and never wanted something wider with more float. I did rotate to the 203 Shiro as the winter went on, but that was for the added length and less torque on my knees of the narrow Shiro (119mm under foot).

Last summer I asked Keith about the 200cm PowBoard and he said at that time he had the mold still, but took the option down off the website because he hadn’t built a pair in a few years. I proceeded to ask his opinion about what I would prefer, the 190 or 200 cm PowBoards, at 6 ft 4in and pushing 220 lbs with ski gear on, and he did admit I was getting close to probably preferring the 200cm PBs, but would be just fine on the 190s for most days. I don’t know for sure, but I bet if you emailed him and asked about a pair of 200cm PBs, he might get the mold out for a limited run.

From what I remember it was Drew Tabke's original Pro model, and it was a test ski ... hence the name Pro Test.

Here's an article on the original partnership:

And if you can find a copy of Coreshot Films' "Linescore," it chronicles that 2007 US Freeski series and has footage from when Tabke bent his Spats 90 degrees on both skis. I had a copy but lost it years ago ...

I’d like to see that if anyone finds a link. Can only imagine what he did to bend both skis like that

This. After Tabke broke the spats he came up with the idea for the ProTest.

Well done digging up that gem, I remember that thread!
I guess I should have said he bent em 45 degrees ... oh how old memories (and lots of beer, weed, and tomahawks in crap snow) distort facts.

    Piste jibs should be 166/176/186
That would mke at a custom +1 more mvp mid lengths filled. In effect
    Mvp 163/167(+1 pj)/173/177/183/187
Or opposite with -1 mvp filling in gaps in length options for the piste jib
    Pj 162(-1mvp)/166(new adjusted sizing)/172/176/182/186
It could add sales ,for those people that are looking for the goldilocks length. Of course o have no idea how much it would take to alter the press/molds. I seem to be one of those between sizes occasionally

PSA -- UL 192 GPOs for $150 in boulder. Look in pretty good shape with what appears to be 1.5x mounts for pivots. https://boulder.craigslist.org/spo/d...660295331.html
