Why the SPX? You don't get that much more for almost 50% higher list price. Picatinny rail and ghost ring sights, thats it. ?
Both receivers are drilled and tapped for an optic..
Why not? I mean for an extra 100 bucks I get the exact gun I want. Still much cheaper than the SLP. Which I had for awhile.

I've learned to buy the gun I want and not the gun I talk myself into. Otherwise I end up having to sell a gun... usually at a loss and buying what I want anyways.

After these two come in Im going to look into a LWRC M6 A5 in tungsten. Then maybe a Costa Carry.

I look in on this thread now and then.
Everyone seems to take very extreme positions and does not really say what they want.

It's obvious something has changed at a cultural level.
I will say this. A local high school has a shooting club. - Organized multi school competition shooting.
I drive by the range this past week while a competition was going on. the parking was overflow, hundreds of people there.
Makes you think a bit ???

I do not , hunt or shoot anymore. But in the past I did. My granpa was the western region 1,000 yard champion 6 years in a row in the late 50's early 60's I grew up where my home one relatives were full of many types of guns. Target shooting match rifles, Skeet guns, Trap guns. antique pistols, Hunting rifles all different bores for different game.
My aunt and uncle were LA county sheriffs, I spent summer in their home, it was common to see a semi auto pistol sitting on the kitchen counter. But what I knew, don't fucking touch it!!
My uncle took me out into the hills of so cal when I was about 14 and taught me how to handle, clean and fire all of those weapons when I was 12 to 14 years old.

for some time as a kid my mom was a single mom, and when we went anywhere like drive down 395 from Tahoe to visit granpa, she packed a .357 pistol, and she knew how to use it. "We were safe"

so today, WTF is going on I America?

So I see this issue from a different perspective.

Overshare. I have not fired any firearm in the past five years.
    But 5 years ago I made sure I can hit a 3" bull with a .45 @ 20 yards.
And yes I have a .45 acp one in the pipe 10 in the clip close by.
Don't wanna fuck with me in my home/

Picked this up at a local gun show yesterday and took her to the range earlier today. An IDI-made auto that went by various names, depending on the importer. All steel and a fine shooter! Further, by owning this, I show my solidarity with the glorious nation of Israel and support the campaign against their own local deplorables.Click image for larger version.

that's kinda purdy, but I don't like .45 with an external hammer.
I love the internal hammer grip safety. I guess it's all just personnel preference.

when I was 16 I got my thumb torn open by a classic 1911 because I gripped it incorrectly.
also, I am a lefty, so limited on works for me

    It's a 9mm, and based, partly, on the CZ-75.

Mine was imported by Magnum Research, and they called it "Desert Eagle Pistol". I was also know as "Baby Eagle" under a different importer and "Jericho" under yet another importer. They kinda look like the big Desert Eagles, but mechanically, they're very different.

And MTT, I'm with you on he .45 ACP. My favorite pistol is a Guncrafter Industries 1911. I posted a pic here a while ago.

Love both the .45 and the 9mm, two very interesting stories that are in close to the same place performance-wise now with modern ammunition.

to each his own. I have a 100 year old Derringer, that shoots .44.

I really can make it work. Hope there is never a reason to take it out.

In my entire life I have never pointed a weapon at a another human being. "Hope I never do"

That said. I have just shown a loaded pistol to an aggressor and they backed the fuck off asap.
    the real world.

I am creeped out by these anti gun posts.

Successful Defensive Gun Uses are in fact quite common, and part of the reason that guns in the hands of the law-abiding are such a big net social benefit is that they can often result in ... no one getting hurt.

If you'd had to go to fisticuffs, then by that point someone definitely gets hurt.

OK. So I was having an issue with a neibor a few years ago. I guess he was going through a mid life crisis "Mid forty's" ?? He was trying to pick a fight with me. I sat on my front porch with a beer and a .45 sitting next to me. He is yelling and calling me names. ends up coming within 10 yards of me and smashes his beer mug o my front steps. Then I just pick up my compact .45 by the body and show it to him. He ran backwards so fast he fell down. we don't talk much eve now 4 years later, but he does not fuck with me.

Who be baiting who? BS has been threatening, dissing, yelling at and demeaning this old fogie since I don't know when. And I don't care. I'm down with that. Here. This thread is as it has always been. Only thing that changed was the cast of characters. Now I gotta go, I have other wars to fight.

Was that before or after Sandy Hook and the creation of a tech talk thread? Times change. norms change. This thread is the shit pile that it always has been.
