Kinda hard to believe given that people run the Ardent front & back while the Aggressor is seen as a primarily rear tire.
I wonder if they’re using Apple/Amazon “math” to steer sales.

maybe more bike industry people are buying through QBP now than shops ordering for customers.
    bumps are for poor people

Is that by specific type/size, or by all types overall? The Aggressor has really only been available on one viable type for most people, the 2.3 DC EXO version, though they do have the DD and have recently offered 2.5WT. The Ardents are available in more than 3X variations.

The Aggressor has a very straight line pattern, little ramping on its lugs, moderate tread height, and a tighter pattern, which makes it ideal as a rear tire for aggressive trail riding.

The Ardent straddles XC and trail riding, even in the larger sizes, to me it's more of a front tire, better paired with something like an Ikon or Ikon Race in the rear.

^^I just paired it with a minion ss on my wife's bike. So far she loves the way it corners, and pedals.

The Ardent is my least favorite tire I’ve ever ridden. Took it off the bike before it was even half worn.

Anyone ride the Assguy yet? Curious how it compares to DHF/DHR2 DH casing.

Eh, that's a little odd. I hope it's the 2.4 Ardent at least. Side knobs on the Ardent are much smaller than the minion SS, I don't think that would be a good balance for cornering. Like I said earlier, an Ikon in the back is a much more commonly used setup and good match.

I read a review about on VitatMTB and its heavy (1200-1350 g) and slow rolling with huge knobs. Looks like an ideal gravity tire even though its marketed as a "trail" tire. Casing is listed as 2 ply, DH specific. I think I'll stick to my Minions.

    Edit:

    Found the review: https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/We...e-Assegai,2301

"the Maxxis Assegai tires are the slowest rolling tires we have used other than a full-on mud spike on a downhill bike."

So just got a new set of wheels with Flow MK3 rims, and I have a lot of fork/chainstay clearance.

Has anyone tried the Schwalbe Nobby Nic 29x2.6 tires? I am seriously considering them...

Keep in mind this was designed at the same time as Minnaar's 29er V10 bike, basically intended to carry speed through everything with maximum grip, at the cost of having decent acceleration.

Nope. But have a look as the maxxis 2.6 Rekon's while you're at it.

World Cups aren't won in a straight line. They're won with the hardest braking, sharpest cornering, and air remaining on the inside tires.

They aren't these days. There's very little sharp cornering requiring significant braking or acceleration. How can Aaron Gwin win without a chain if needs to accelerate?

New Season, New Tires, New Thread

Brand new DHF 2.5WT and DHRII 2.4WT installed.

I can’t imagine Ardents and Aggressors here in the Front Range, but to each their own [emoji6]Click image for larger version.

Are you noticing a big difference with the 2.4 and 2.5's compared to 2.3's? On both the up and down?

Better on the down, a little more sluggish on the way up (minimal)...but I also just switched to Eagle from an 11 speed and PR’d the shit out of stuff today without even trying. Sooooo I’m happy.

NICE. Just mounted up my new 2.5WT DHF 3C also, will be trying it with a 2.4 DHR2 DC for now.

How is it marketed as a trail tire, it's designed for dh racing by one of the best dh racers of all time and initially released in a dh casing... Vital reviewer then puts it on a trail bike and said it was tough on the climbs lol

After two tries on 2.6s, I’m not sold. Maybe if I lived somewhere with huge chunky rocks all over the place. Back to my 2.4s.

New whip has DHR 2's in a 2.4 mounted front and rear... Initial ride on the moon dusted cozy was not too bad.
