I love cryptic spring forecasts. Is it gonna snow? Is it gonna rain? When? What elevation? It looks relative nice both in Denver and Fruita so you front rangers have options.

Pro tip: this weekend will probably be frustrating but isn't it always frustration for the front ranger skier? Too much traffic, too many people, not deep enough, too heavy, wrong skis...etc...

Remember when it was <1hr from downtown brown town to the Jane and it was knee deep pow in the trees for days?

It's going to snow. In fact, it's snowing right now in Vail.

Expect a HUUUUUUUGE I-70 closure from this storm.

APRIL + WET SNOW + DEEP WET SNOW + PEOPLE DRIVING THROUGH I-70 NOT KNOWING ABOUT A SNOW STORM AHEAD = COMPLETE TOTAL CLUSTERFUCK

No frustration here. Just gotta have flexibility and be smart to avoid the mess.

CAIC talking rain all the way up to 11.5K, maybe 12.5K.
I'm throwing some oversized trash bags into my pack.

When it rained 2 weeks ago or so, there were some Vail ski patrollers wearing 55 gallon black trash bags with duct tape crosses.

The temp dropped below what was forecast here in north Denver- it went from 40 to 27* in about an hour just now, and it's already snow. Hopefully that trend continues in the high country and this storm drops 20-30" for everyone. Because Christ, we know everyone still needs it.

Winter was tits for me today.
First lift at 9, promptly when to Eagle Winds and lapped Black Coal until 11am...and I was the only one over there the entire time besides 3x ski patrol. Freshies all morning. Serious good day, left at 11:30am before the Gape's showed up.

Mid 40's and raining in Aspen.
Snrain at top of loge (11,675') at Highlands so I headed home again.
Would rather walk the dog in the rain than ski in that s#it.

Nice score. Didn't realize they sell kegs. That slow-pour pils is fantastic.

Well this isn’t what I wanted to hear....and the warmest part of the storm is still enroute. Catching a friends movie at the Vail Film fest tomorrow and was planning to head your way to use last Aspen ticket Sunday. I was hoping the bowl would stay snowy.
