Copper is a good mountain. I'd certainly prefer it over Loveland and over A-Basin unless everything at the Basin was in good shape.

I get that in an absolute sense. But this time of year (or a week from now), does that balance shift?

Why would that shift this time of year? Copper has plenty of high elevation stuff that should be prime.

Is there a clear-cut better two-out-of-three plan? It'll be Monday/Tuesday, if that makes any difference. Initial thoughts were to hit the two places I haven't skied, but if Copper isn't worth it, I'd rather spend a day back at Loveland than a crappy day at a new place.

    Recc's?
Looks like Monday is going to be pretty warm and Tuesday a little less so. I'd say A Basin Monday and Copper Tuesday when the lower elevation stuff at Copper will hopefully be in better shape.

A Basin is a really fun mountain to explore and skis well on warm days.

If it's warm on Monday and cool on Tuesday, why would you go to the lower altitude place on Tuesday? To increase your chances of skiing on refrozen snow?

Be aware usasa nationals are at Copper all week so although manageable, it is a bit more crowded than I am sure it usually is. Yesterday was my first day on the hill so not a huge sample but lines got a bit long late morning early afternoon but that was likely due to practice sessions happening all day, comps begin today. Solid conditions albeit a bit firm up high with nice corn mid down.

Low last night in Gunny was 47, so like 20 degrees warmer than Denver last night? Weird. Hartman's is totally open. I'll keep skiing til Memorial Day though.

Mainly Eagle, upper lifts weren't bad except when practices where happening. I stayed on resolution and there was never much of a line. Super Bee is down now and has been for 20+.

It's going to be mush on Monday and has a better chance to be corn on Tuesday. Cooler temps, but still above freezing, should keep the lower elevation stuff in the sweet spot for longer on Tuesday.

Good to know ... Likely headed to the Basin on Tuesday. Joel shows 2-4 on Monday night, at least for A-basin.

Super fun morning skiing Silver Couloir. No bump skis needed. The wind worked wonders and it was filled in nicely. Moderate density powder up top and slightly mushy at the base. No crust until you hit the sun baked spot at the bottom. It warmed up fast and we experienced some rollerballs coming down the bottom choke as we were exiting.

Just drove up from Denver. It was a tad breezy for sure...looked like a bunch of drunk drivers on the road from all the sudden weaves(me too). LL looked they weren't running a couple of chairs unless they were both stopped atm.

Any decent storms systems on the horizon before resorts start closing down?

Loveland showed sustained winds in the Cat 1 Hurricane range 93mph at the top of 9.

Breckenridge 74mph winds gusting to 97mph repeatedly

Damn, 93? That's not any fun to ski. CDOT had 50mph gusts on their VMS but I had a couple few that seemed stronger than that.

Patrol at Copper told me they had several 70mph+ gusts at the summit station.

Decent? It has been snowing every few days or so for 2 months now. Conditions are awesome. Yeah a fat storm will hit and it will probably have an upslope component. This is standard issue spring conditions. Take a lap

Your optimism is admirable, yet borderline delusional.

That's at highway level... decent difference getting up onto a mountain.

I realize that it likely wasn't 93 on the highway. >60 possible though.
