he can hit homeruns just not in october, fuck him and the yankees.

Fred, best wishes, seriously. concentrate on your girls, yourself and survival. There are plenty of friends out there for you. Reach out to them and sounds like they are reaching out to you. Go pick up fred and take him out for dinner or a movie or some turns. There is a ton of life yet to enjoy, its just shadowed by your sadness right now. Things will get better.

bored at work. Thought I would update this post. The divorce came but it took until October of 2010. I got joint custody with my girls who I did my best with, the oldest daughter is now 21 and is at the University of Utah, skied like a fiend until she found climbing, and now climbs year round. She is happy.

The youngest graduates from High School this year. She quit skiing I think as a way to control something in her life. She reads a lot and is the captain of the school ballroom dance team. she is happy.

I lost that job I was worried about, company went bankrupt. I found a place to hide away during the recession working for the state gov.

I remarried a few years after the divorce. We have a son now, Jackson aged 2.5 I haven't skied for three years. I hope to start it up again by teaching my son.

I have a cushy corporate gig, travel a lot, and by and large am happy.

I never got back those friends I lost while fighting for the marriage. To much water, to big a bridge. I still make the same bad decisions as always, I just don't post about it anymore.

That nipple's gotta be raw by now.

Good to hear things are going well Fred. Let's try to get together, I don't care about no damn bridge. It might not be until next year since I fucked myself up pretty good in December, but let's do it when I get out there.

In the meantime, post here maybe just a wee bit more frequently, please. The board is mostly about guns now but once the Feds take them all away next week I'm sure things will go back to normal quickly.

My wife probably would have held my beer while I threw stuff in the fire back in those days. Of course, until the day she decides she is sick of it. So, there but for the grace of <your fav entity here> go I.

We need to get Jackson and Aaron out on the hill. I took Aaron last year and he hated it, now he tells me he wants to try again. Let me know...

    Fuck yeah Frozen!!!

I swear next time I'm in Utah we are putting the band back together. First we will go skiing a Snowbird 'cause Bob, Fred & Ned ski the Bird. They we will light of firecrackers and shoot them at each other in the parking lot. They we will finish off at MD9s bar. I will need about 2 weeks off following.

    Good to hear, frozen!

I agree with the "post more" contingent.

Glad to hear you are doing okay. I think I remember this thread from back in the day although I didn't live here at the time.

If you want to get little Jackson out on skis with another tiny nugget, my oldest is almost 3 and we are around the central Wasatch and ski as often and as hard as a 2 year old can.

Just in time for Easter, he's back from the dead!
Sounds like life is good. Except the whole not skiing thing. Yikes. Aren't you close to skiing?

As misguided and imperfect as we are, we watch them throw away our attempt to give them the thing we see as rare and beautiful.

I guess it's part of the job but damn it's hard.
