I'm stoked. No more wantabee tattoo artist graphics on the topsheet. Glad people finally joined what Black Crows and Black Diamond have been doing for years now. Nordica looks damn good as a cohesive line versus K2's garage sale of a creative direction.

TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

Definitely just you. 4 buckles not 2, completely different walk mode, lower wraps foot, couple hundred grams lighter, very different

I mean I know it's got more buckles. It just looks more upright than other technicas and the booster is just like MTN lab. Shape looks similar in pics. I can't tell weight from a pic so....what's the flex of that? Last?

Different strokes and all, but there is a middle ground.
    No longer stuck.

So do we. The show is so big, 3.5 days is just not enough time to cover it. We haven't had a chance to cover more than 1/3 of it.

Yeah how is that btw..? Now that it's combined must be fucking immense...used to be you could pick your appointments at OR, then hit the others at SIA. Must be a huge pain now.

It's not batteries... It's capacitors. It's really a good idea.

Forward lean is the same as all the Mach/Cochise/ZeroG boots from this year. It is adjustable and you can give
it a whopping 1* more forward lean if you want. I would say if you saw both the Mountain lab and the new ZeroG boot next to each other they look very different. The new ZeroG boot is a 99mm last. Very positive comments on the fit at SIA which was the most surprising to me. I've got a monster foot and won't be able to put one on until probably next fall but it looks soooo low volume so I was a little worried but there was't one person who had anything negative to say about the out of the box fit which was reassuring. Liner is a new intuition-style liner ( I think it's ultralon, gotta check ) made by Tecnica and has a ton of shape built into it that matches the shell really well so the initial fit it much better than the old ZeroG boots with the Palau liners. We just got the final skiable samples in 26.5 here in the US a few weeks ago so not a lot of feedback on performance at the moment. Adrian Ballinger and John Morrison have pairs they're skiing in now. Marcus skied in a pair for a day but they are a size bigger than he normally uses. His comments were even though it was a size to big he felt it skied better than his present Zero G boots???? Time will tell as we get more feedback throughout the spring but the initial reactions to the fit, flex, weight were all very positive at SIA.

Looks nice, but I'm a bit surprised it's been re-categorized. Old ZG was the perfect "do it all" boot given that it had a DIN sole + tech fittings. Just burly enough (especially with a wrap liner) for resort but light enough for touring. Now it's in the wild (and crowded) world of 1300g touring shoes. Maybe the next Cochise iteration will be more like the first gen ZeroG.

With the move towards GripWalk for both boots and bindings for most manufacturers, I can see Tecnica thinking that the 1300g touring shoe fits into do-it-all boots now. [/speculation]
I didn't have a chance to stop by and actually look at this boot.

Anyone have the weight on the new bent Chet 100s? I am wondering if it is similar in weight to the backlands as I'm looking for a spring touring ski

Remember Tecnica has Federico Sbrissa in the house now, and he's not gonna ski in a 1500 gram boot if he has a choice. I used to think sub-1400 grams was too light for everyday use, but after 25 days in the Hawx Ultra XTD with no powerstrap @ 1350 grams I'm re-thinking it . . .

Anyone get a chance to check out these Oakley goggles that have light / medium / dark lens adjustments with the push of a button? I figured this would happen eventually... if it works well that's pretty cool.

Stoked to see Tecnica is putting out a boot that's a couple hundred grams lighter than the ZeroG. Now I've trying to figure out how to get through the rest of the season so I can pick them up next year, this past fall when I sampled the new crop of touring boots the fit of the ZeroG was miles better than the competition.

Any word on updates to the Scarpa lineup, specifically Maestrale and F1?

Can't imagine too many changes to the Maestrale after this past season.
