A run I did for Gord in May 25 of 2016. Sent him some positive vibes from the mountains after news was released the previous day about his terminal brain cancer.

I tend to agree with this gal's perspective:
    http://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/gover...ange-1.4384481

" ...had Payette flippantly dismissed traditional Indigenous healing methods instead of cancer patients taking sugar pills, I doubt she'd be afforded the defences she's currently enjoying from many observers."

Also, politically, I have to believe the Liberals and JT lost more than they gained with this whole thing.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...arre-car-crash

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Cpl Laurel Scott says officers responded to the report of a car colliding with a truck in Nisku, south of Edmonton, Alberta, on Monday.

When they arrived, they found that five people in the car were naked.

Scott said Tuesday the five were arrested. She said she’s not sure of the charges, though police consider it a “purposeful collision”.
    Hmmm.

Hmm, Nisku?. Maybe airlines lost their luggage, and had a bad experience with border security at YEG?

Fair enough, Payette might have been scolded more severely then she was had she pointed her words elsewhere. Doesn't change the fact that the people she called out are f*cking imbeciles. The title of your linked article asks, "In what universe is it appropriate for a Governor General to deride people for their beliefs?" How about when their beliefs are a crock of garbage that is ruining our world. Good on Payette for calling someone's b.s. out. That is a quality sorely lacking in public discourse on all sides of the spectrum. Write her a letter asking her to trash different targets next time.

Also, politically, who gives a f*ck!

Relativism is a disease ruining public discourse.

    I've been drinking.

    Sorry

Given how rare it seems these days, I’m stoked whenever anyone contributes a little common sense to public discourse. Ideologues of every stripe, whether they be grizzly bear spirit or sky daddy worshipers, kirpan carriers, anti-vaxxers, or prohibitionists should all be called out for their superstitious ignorance. I expect much of the grief Payette is getting is just thinly veiled misogyny.

Not entirely sure, but I'm certain it would involve tabarnak.

It would probably be fuckez vous (pronounced "fuckay") unless you were friends in which case it would most likely be fuckes toi (pronounced "fuck twah").

    Today is our Remembrance Day

    In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae
