Fixed my jigarex last night. I never took it apart before. The centering/skipping problem was a missing screw on each end. It’s money now. Come on gpo’s!

    SFB,
How would one lose a thumb mounting skis? The usual suspects: saws, planers, routers, etc. are absent from my mounting toolkit. I may be doing it wrong tho.

Reminds me, I gotta order some inserts.

PSA: Mount your own fucking skis.

Mounted up some fucking Line Supernatural 108s with some fucking Pivot 14s, on the line for 3-fucking-25 BSL.

My practice mount on a 2x4 showed that I screwed up slightly on the BSL when putting the two halves of the template together. I adjusted by a few mm, remounted on the 2x4, checked that the boot center lined up correctly and went to work on the skis. Perfect.

Anyone know the screw sizes for the old Salomon metal s900/s916/s920 just flat mount ie. no plate or lifter. I would like to order but don't have a metric ruler...would have to buy one etc etc...but I can and will if need be. Just wondering if someone in this thread has them handy.

Had to do a little pre-work before the crews annual Fall BBQ / Mount and Wax skis party.

I've got two sets of my own to mount at the party, plus a couple of friends. Found by #4 last year I was pretty damn drunk. So pre-marking mine as a precaution.

See where bossass posted screw lengths & details at https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...11#post1907211 .

NOTE: I assume bossass's numbers for toe screws in that thread are for the newer version of the "Driver" toe AFD on STH 16 (the extra wide one, my favorite). I believe those toe screw length numbers work just fine for every high-DIN >=16 version of toe AFD for s900/s916/s920, EXCEPT you would need shorter toe screws if you don't mount the shock-absorbing toe shims that fit the the oldest (narrower) "Driver" toe AFD. If you mount those oldest toe AFDs without those toe shims, then I'd guess just subtract about 2-3mm of length from bossass's posted numbers for toe screws.

ASIDE: Many maggots prefer to mount those old toes WITHOUT the shock-absorbing toe shims. Anyway, I've done some A-B Testing on the hill (including scraped wall-riding entrances on uberfats like Volkl Chopsticks 128mm underfoot), and now I prefer including the toe shims. For my tastes, the benefits of added shock-absorption of those shims (due to the compressible rubber pads in there) outweighs any possible downsides of increased lift, decreased ramp angle, and even any possible tiny loss of transmission control or edge grip.

Mounted some skis last night -- Bibby's with STHs, and Monsters with GTOs.

Also fixed a big fucking coreshot in the $20 Belafontes I picked up. Already drilled for radicals at my BSL. Going to pop the binders from the Lhasas on them for early season touring...since Lhasas aren't very replaceable now.

Never meant to own a bunch of Moments, but I generally like them and they always pop up stupid cheap: Bibbys for $100 flat, Deathwishes for $50 flat, and now the Belas.

Mounting up a pair of Fischer Big Stix with dukes for a season of lift operating and volunteer patrolling! Whole set up for under 400 CAD. Binders are lightly used but still nice and tight. Skis new from a local shop blowing out old inventory. Stoked on this new setup. Pray for deep days.
