so awesome to see folks getting after it. great pics everyone
we had an objective in mind and then proceeded to see an obs from sac with a big ol pic of the line posted up last night. was able to drop kids off at school and still tag it before the masses arrived and arrive they did
Tallac was ( . )( . ) today. Jimw made his usual psychotic trip from Santa Cruz and scored 2 full laps of perfect top to bottom snow.
Pretty good recap of where we're at:

Um
I'll just say
HELLZ YEAH!
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Way to get it Brooks & Jim. Way to nail Cham in rediculous conditions! So much stoke!
No, we just did laps on one... it was a full pole deep in some spots, so breaking trail for that tour would've required monstrous quads. As it was we got to follow a skin track for 90% of the route which is probably what enabled the third lap.
That was fun.
Has the special line not talked about in detail on tallac been dropped?
You mean the one that's named after that Sesame Street character?
It was untracked and looked like it goes, though probably somewhat spicy in the middle. Hard to tell if there might be some weird snow in there too. There were definitely some areas out there that got windslapped, but dayum what we rode was all-time top to bottom. Definitely my best day ever on Tallac and prolly one of my best BC days ever. I'll post up some pics later and maybe even edit some cam footage, though it won't be nearly as epic as the one BGnight already posted. Just imagine his, but slower and with a track in both chutes.
Also, it looks like another major refresh coming this weekend possibly. If this pans out Tallac is gonna get hammered again:
Oh yeah, AK - after that day I don't feel so bad about missing out on eastside wind board this week!![]()
It got a little warmer than forecast yesterday and cooked some sun exposed aspects but still found nice cold snow this morning. I don't think it's going to last much longer- temps rising fast.

very very nice BG and Jdub. Jealous.
The E shaft entrance doesn't even look recognizable it is so filled in.
If you have a FB account please go over to the KW page over the next month and request they stay open long we than April 16th. They claim they are co soldering every request.
The more cluttered their FB, the more people will rant.
They currently have over a 12' base at the base. It is the most filled I have seen in 15 years for this date.
I just wanna be able to keep skiing with my son. He does not tour. Yet.
I posted that specifically in order to jinx it, since I'm gonna be out of town when it happens...
I know, right?? It seems like every time I've been there for the last several years it's just been a wind-stripped, barely covered, scrape your way down not-fun looking mess. Yesterday it was awesome. The coverage is insane. Huge cornices up there. Getting into the direct entrance would be probably a 15' vertical drop before you hit snow.
#2 was Babycham. The frontside stuff was definitely filled in, but looked kinda windslapped up top. There were a couple old tracks on the hanging face.
Several folks hit the usual way down that side from the upper bowl and it looked epic:
