Yes it's in nice shape, Dealer maintained and it even has the rear facing seat. It belonged to a friend and it was getting old, It hadn't been used much in the last few years so it had to go. It should clean up pretty well, I washed it but it hasn't seen any wax in years (it was stored inside though).

If you're doing that go rally. Lift, bigger wheels/tires etc. Too many are just street machines but want to be so much more.

Oh wait was I thinking out loud?

^^ buddy has a fully stock '91 240 that has been taken all over the 4x4 trails in Moab/SE Utah. This spring the only thing that slowed it down was a ford through runoff.

I already have a Subaru Wagon and a Toyota 4wd pick up, so I wont go full rally car with it, but I live on a dirt road so it will never get lowered. I ordered IPD overload springs and Bilstien HD shocks today for the rear, front springs seem good but being a little stiffer couldn't hurt and may get changed but they'll get HD Bilstien's as well. I'm thinking a locking rear will be in it's future as well.

Anyone catch this piece in the Weekend Journal? 850R owners could be sitting on something worthwhile in 10 years. (For wagon dorks like us)

They have lots of good info, I think I fixed several problems with this car in the past with info found there (speedo, fuel pump, ...). I Spent lots of time with working on their marine engines, and always liked their diesels and gearboxes, But never owned a Volvo car. I Used to spend several weeks in Rockleigh, NJ at their service schools every year and was real impressed with the place (and great lunches) , They always had lots of things never seen by the public on the floor and in display cases. If you want to see Classic Volvos, That's the place, Everyone drives one. The Vancouver school was good too, I always stayed on Granville Island and was able to spend a few hours at Grouse or Cypress every night.

Wow, an old Mitsubishi Diamante in the background. I had one way back, it was actually a pretty sweet wagon.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I hear ya, I too am 4 cylinder-averse. But, if it's good enough for the Porsche 917, BMW 5 series, Audi A6, Merc E Class, and just about every other high end car these days there must be something to em. (I'll keep my 6cyl until it explodes)

Not to mention look at the specs for the Volvo 4 bangers:

    T5: 254hp 320 torque
    T6: 320hp 400 torque
    T8 hybrid: 407hp 400 torque.

None of those numbers would suck in a wagon.

There is something to them. They get better gas mileage when off boost. I don't like the small turbo 4 cylinder engines. Had an A4 with the 2.0T quattro, manual 6 speed, and it was a pain in the ass. off boost, (first second or so) car couldn't get out of it's own way, then boost would come on, so you were constantly slipping the clutch to get smooth takeoffs. Didn't like it at all.
I also had a loaner bmw 3 series with the turbo 4 in automatic, and didn't like that at all either.
Sports car, different story, turbo engines are fun. But in a daily sedan or wagon, please give me 6 cylinders.

I hear ya. I got a loaner X3 the last time the car was in for service and damn if that wasn't the most annoying engine with the stop-start pain in the ass function to boot. Sluggish then high strung is how I'd describe it.

I think that's why the T6 is interesting, supercharged and turbocharged to eliminate the low end no-boost issue.

    Buick Regal Wagon?

    http://jalopnik.com/holy-crap-the-ne...ous-1789685651

I made fun of my brother in law when he got his Regal TT with the Brembos, 20" wheels and whatnot but it was a 6mt and awd so I gave it a go. Very fun car! I wonder if it's basically an ATS?

Yes. I would most definitely have the Volvo any day. More HP, more torques, some of the best styling on any car these days period... that said, more wagons are always a good thing. I know there's fuel efficiency advantages to manufacturers with these idiotic crossover things but the less of them the better.
