Good to see them score a few.

They seem to have reverted to that absorb pressure mode in the 2nd half. I'd like to see more consistent possession rather than the sloppy stuff in this half.

I said the same to my wife mid way thru the half, things got a little better with fresh legs when Zusi subbed in. Wood looked impressive, very promising.

Had the mojo working tonight. They should always shoot the ball off the low inside corner of the post! Klinsman's got to be slapping himself in the forehead... "Why didn't I think of that?!"

Great display by the Yanks tonight. Paraguay Colombia has been interesting. They just had a guy sent off so he won't be playing vs the US.

Yes...a convincing win, but from watching the highlights, it could have been 7-0. They missed some easy chances on goal that they will have to convert to go anywhere in this tourney.

Yedlin is good defender. Bradley had a good throughball that they should have scored on.

    Where is Tim Howard?

After watching both games, I was thinking the US may have a challenging game against Paraguay. Enjoy the game with the boys.

How does England keep screwing things up. They dominated this game and should have won at least 3-1.

OK...I love soccer, but that US - Paraguay was tough to watch. No flow to it at all. The referee was abysmal.

On another note, our nosebleed seats were facing west. It was 96deg and 1,234% humidity. The sun didn't relent until 10 minutes into the second half. Fuck. I would have rather played the 90 minutes than sit there roasting like that.

For some reason, the assholes in charge of tickets didn't sell ANY on the west (shady) side of the upper deck.

The kiddos loved the game and the atmosphere though. Lots of singing and chanting.

The fucking Russkis are behind the violence in France.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-36515213

Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin told a news conference: "There were 150 Russian supporters who in reality were hooligans. These people were well prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action. These are extremely well-trained people."

I'm at the store last night and I look up at the TV for one second, just in time to see Peru knockout brasil with this excellent play.

Yeah...that's a shame to lose a game and a ticket to the next round on cheating like that.

    Fuck that.

As an Ireland fan who saw Henry deprive us of a trip to the World Cup because of a handball goal, I say fuck Peru and that shitty goal. That said, if Brazil didn't suck so bad, they wouldn't have been in a position to lose that game.
In other news, Belgium looked like ass today.

Ya. Ireland dominated most of the match and created some great chances.
Just getting around to Spain - Czech now. Watching Don Andres play is just an absolute pleasure. THE most beautiful player of the beautiful game.

Was really pulling for Ireland. They had some good chances early and controlled the early part of the game.

Iceland earns a 1-1 draw with Portugal. Congrats to them.
