Wow... too funny. It is a small freaking world! Coincidently, we happened upon his studio at this big artist loft open house today because my daughter is dating his architect's son and lives there, too.

Was lots of fun sharing stories and hearing his tales.

i was 16 and loved Mick and Keith, still do
thankfully i can still see myself, way up in the nosebleed seats, smoking delicious 'gold' bones that we drizzled with hash oil

i wish some images would go away, but i guess i'm lucky enough too still see them

I've seen my fair share of shows in my day (not as many as you really old farts maybe) but the Stones show in 02 at the Tower in Phillty was on of the best I've ever seen. Backup singer was down with disease and Ronnie and Keith had to handle the duties, a truly unique small theater show that I am glad I was lucky enough to be in attendance for.

Buttah, I think the Hartford show was the next show, so technically their first official one of the 81 tour. Probably the same playlist, as they opened with Under My Thumb in Worcester, too.

The 2005 Fenway Stones show was pretty good, too. We got 2nd row tickets last minute and so had great f'n seats. Sitting in the row behind us, was a bunch of Patriot players. We were all high fiving each other... Brady, Flutie and Bruschi. They were like a bunch of little kids, all giddy being so close... Gotta fucking love the Stones.

Edit: Buttah, just realized you said that was your first concert. I think I saw some pictures he had from that Hartford show, so maybe I can grab a couple for you. Might be fun to have?

Yeah, I saw the Stones in '89, but I saw the Who right around the same time and at that time the Who blew the Stones away. Jagger was just running around and jumping on his playground of a stage and the Who just fucking stood on stage and rocked the house. Who>Stones for live show in my book.

Saw TTB again last night at The Egg in Albany. Bunch of stuffy cunts. 975 seat theater, killer band, rocking out, and no one moves a muscle. My friend towards the end of the show stood up to dance when they started to play The Storm. two guys behind him pounced on him and tried to push him into his seat while yelling sit down. They were just waiting for someone to violate their strict code of being a tightass. Security came over. took my friend out, threatened police. The security guard told him not to dance in the aisle and that if wanted to dance to do it at his seat. SO he did and this is what he got.

These dicks actually high-fived each other when my bud got removed. I mocked them by staring at them, giving myself a high five and then flipping them off with one hand each. Then I stayed there and enjoyed the last song and the encore. Which when the people down front stood up, so did a bunch of people. Susan commented to the band come on guys, these guys are standing lets go, or something to that effect.

I may have to retire from live music. Do those high end music vacation destinations attract a more professional concert goer? I'm really getting sick of minding my own business, dancing, and having a good time while respecting everyone around me, and having to deal with this shit.

my iPhone records nice audio, and I agree on the clubs, i dont like people touching me when i dance. I need a column 24 inches in diameter and i wont bump anyone. I can find a spot usually, then hit the rail if so inclined. Swiss club shows? The only problem there is after i ski all day in the Alps, theres no night for me. just exhaustion.

fortunately (sort of) there aren't many shows during ski season. seems most bands stops touring dec - mar here. i'm the same about "dancing"....errrmm...more just like drunken headbanging and flailing my body around.

Govt Mule at the Beacon the night before New Years. A suite at the Hotel Beacon, a stellar crew of professional show attendees, and all in all a very fun night in the city.

thanks to some friends ended up with a ticket to a show at the JH Center for the Arts....350 seat, super-small tight solid space.

Promoter may have had fun at a 'songwriting in the round' kind of Bluebird Cafe in Nashville gig or something, so he booked four musicians who had never played or even jammed together, and it worked!

Robert Randolph [Family Band], Luther Dickinson [N.Mississippi Allstars], Rich Robinson [Black Crowes], Ivan Neville [Dumpstaphunk, etc].

First set was a little awkward, they were playing their own tunes, and it was obvious none knew any of the other's music...

Second set LIT UP!!! Got in to some covers and went deep. Will the Circle Be Unbroken to Pleased to Meet You/Stones....2nd encore john mayall Room To Move to Temptations Daddy Was a Rolling Stone...strong...
