2016 off to a slow but good start for me - been entertaining some brootal doom and hardcore sounds lately.

possibly one of the heaviest bands i've seen: Primitive Man

    Magrudergrind

    Belzebong (again)

    Stoned Jesus

    Mars Red Sky

I saw pepper and Iration a couple weeks ago. There was a reggae band out of the bronx (I think) that opened for both. They rocked, the pepper show was a little long, and iration just killed it. Great show to catch if it's in your area!

Saw the Indigo Girls tonight with the wife. You know what? It was fun, and Amy Ray can fucking belt out a tune.

Did it get tedious a little? I like them, but a little goes a long way. Closer To Fine and Galileo singalong with 2,000 screaming lesbians.

    Good times.

Anyone going to Breck spring fling next month? Lukas Nelson and Troy Andrews

This show ruled. Tim Barry kills live.
But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer

There were a ton of songs I didn't know: some that were just too "awwww" for me but one, "Chickenman," kicked ass. They also played my favorite IG song - "Kid Fears" and I sang my ass off. Would have preferred "Prince of Darkness" as a closer rather than CtF.

So fuckin' HOT lipstick lesbians in the crowd. Really cool old theater (The Lincoln) and no line at the men's room either.

^ ^ ^ Nice, love me some BOC!

Saw a couple shows this week in Reno, Testament was a headbangin' good time. Always a treat so see Alex Skolnick play.

Last night I saw The Sword with Royal Thunder. Didn't know much about the opener but WOW, they were fucking great! That chick has got some set of pipes, I was very impressed.

Warren Haynes out on a great show last night in Portland. He was totally in control, his band was stellar, and the mix was good. I've seen him a few times before but his new lineup, which includes fiddle, mandolin, banjo and upright bass was a refreshingly new sound.

Saw the Melvins with Napalm Death last night in SLC at the urban lounge. Amazing! the place was slamming, literally. Buzzo was in his crazy smock, Steven S McDonald on bass. The bass player for Napalm Death came on stage to play 2nd bass on Night Goat

Saw Houndmouth at Terminal 5 in NYC last Saturday. Great venue, very New York. Holds about 3000, 3 tiers, rooftop bar plus tons of other bars, kinda shitty in a NYC rough way so pretty perfect. Not awesome sound but highly recommended anyways. Hard to put good sound in such a big weird space. Houndmouth was OK, the kids love that shit, they were all over "Sedona" This is that show:

There were two opening acts, Lucy Ducas, pretty decent, and Rayland Baxter, outstanding. Way better than Houndmouth. Check him out.

Video from a different show about 2 weeks before the show we saw:

I love that song "Dreamin"" second cut on that video^^ That is good shit. Such a good sound. Third cut's nice but a little weak, fourth cut "Young Man" is fukkin rockin. Whatever, listen to it.

Seriously pretty outstanding sorta kinda southern rock kinda thing. Give it a little time. There's some Gerry Rafferty shit in there, some Drive By Truckers, some Zeppelin, he's good, super talented dude. Guaranteed you'll hear about him in the future.

Friday night in DC (the night before the NYC show) we saw my favorite band to see, Donna The Buffalo. Seen them a lot of times (50?), always so much fun.

    always fun

keyboard player had a 104 temperature, didn't show. Drummer's sister was getting married, so they got another (really good) one. Didn't matter. Great show.
