Stoked!
"We are excited about an upcoming transaction for the purchase and operation of Magic Mountain Ski Area. We will be working with this new company for the next few weeks to complete all necessary Due Diligence to close on the purchase. This new group will also be working with us on key projects necessary to ready the ski area for the new season.
Importantly, the new owners will honor all season passes purchased this year. But until the purchase officially closes in a few weeks, no new passes will be sold. When the purchase happens, the new company will offer new passes for sale at what would traditionally be "early bird" spring pricing as a way of thanking you for your patience during this tranistion. Expect passes to go on sale by October for a couple of weeks at these special prices.
Be assured that the new ownership group is committed to not only a purchase of Magic but a long-term investment in its infrastructure to improve your ski experience (more snowmaking and fully operational lift system).
Again, thank you for your patience. We know great days are ahead for Magic.
Think snow!"
Great news!
To summarize.
Somebody bought it, nobody knows who they are, and everyone is happy now.

The phrase " fully operational lift system" (emphasis added) suggests more than one fully operational lift.
Can always hope, but I'm still holding on to my skins.

Buy the pass on this go around because it's the last time it will ever be this rate.
Who can tell me the break even in ski days?
I am not in your hurry
We go by glimmerz of hope. This is one of them.
Lol no... A lot of people know and have been working their asses off to hit the ground running when the paperwork finally gets stamped as there will be a very limited time period to hammer shit out before the season starts. YOU might not know all the details but c'mon man- that doesn't mean "nobody knows".
That was a huge part of the problem with the regime on it's way out- zero understanding of the expectations of the public, or how to convey what is happening with any regularity. Communication was far from their strong point. That's on its way out for sure.
The new crew seems to be ready to fkn rock IMO. They are all Magic people.
Definitely bring them for March 12 & 13 for rando racing -- or just laugh at us from the lift!
And they've already secured a weekend of National Series racing from the U.S. Ski Mountaineering Association!
Well, okay, so that's just a coincidence.
But this should attract some Westerners plus a portion of the very fast Quebec skimo crew (in addition to our NE talent).
As of now Saturday's course is entirely in-bounds:

... but I would like to expand it to Timber Ridge pending landowner permission (and natural snowcover too of course).
Sunday's race format will feature shorter laps all within view of the Red Chair, so should be quite the spectacle!
Mo' skimo here: NE Rando Race Series
I love it... Magic is back in black!
Sip of Sunshine or HT? SOS is probably more appropriate, no pun intended, lol.
Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!
A lot of people know who the buyers are. Just been told to keep it quiet. As was noted, they are Magic people - I'm not one of them.
Sip of Sunshine is hard to get in quantity but I'll start working on figuring it out.
Pass sales are frozen. They will be offered at the Springtime rate for a couple of weeks in October after the sale is final. Break even days are 7+ (assuming you pay the retail price which nobody does) if you get a pass for $489.
No word on what Throwback Thursday rates will be or even if they will be offered. If so, I hope they market it.
