There's one I hadn't thought about for a while. It reminded of the time I went to see Red House Painters (earlier iteration) at a semi-seedy downtown bar. RHP was playing that kind of drony stuff and the crowd wouldn't shut up and just chatted over them, so the band just stopped playing. Bummer. I saw Yo La Tengo in that same bar and they blew the yappy crowd back against the wall.

But I want to hear some quiet-ish morning music:

Can certainly see that happen. Mark Kozelek tends to be a little snippy. Lately he's been touring solo quite a bit and that's a bit somnolent even for me and I consider him one of my favorite artists of all time.

Pretty sure that's Stevie Ray on the Bowie video - can't get a good look though.

What song is it you wanna hear?

SRV played guitar on the Lets Dance album. Bowie fired him before the tour because he could not control him (SRV wanted to be more in the forefront and wankoff on his guitar while Bowie wanted him to just be a guitar player and do his part)

If you listen to that album the guitar is unmistakably SRV from the very first note.

Yeah I knew it was him on the album but I didn't know if he was on the tour.

Ahh I see. He was fired just days before the tour stared.

I've been wanting to see this for a bit- supposedly it gets into the SRV drama.

Hearing Earth, Wind and Fire on a live venue seems to be good for me.

Well you seem like a nice genuine person, Kelly, so I am happy to oblige.
