THE RIDGE WILL BE PUSHED EAST OF THE STATE BY 00Z SUNDAY AS A LARGE
UPPER LEVEL TROUGH DIGS OVER THE WESTERN U.S. FLOW ALOFT WILL BECOME
SOUTHWESTERLY AND MOISTURE WILL INCREASE. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO FORM SATURDAY AFTERNOON OVER THE

Wouldn't that mean people would actually have to be out there skiing?

I know, wild fucking thought. I was hoping to get up there next weekend if this incoming storm can put enough snow up there to make it worthwhile. I know Wild Basin got a good 3-4 feet from last weekend's storm.

I can't quite get a good view of the south side from my commute, but given how much snow is on the east face of Meeker right now (normally none) I would say there's a pretty reasonable chance the Dragon's Egg is skiable.

This. And I would try to get a visual on it again before you go. It got a lot in this past storm but looked pretty thin before that. I learned the hard way that it's a long slog for bad snow.

Thanks. I've got a pretty good view from my office in Denver, but I wanted to see if anyone has been up in the area recently. Hopefully I can use my boss' telescope.

Of course it's always the other fuckstick's fault. But the shoulder is 3 vehicle widths wide there just past and beyond the Georgetown on ramp. There was plenty of space in the two driving lanes and people still need to slow down and look. The truck was in the left lane. So merge left into the left lane after passing it on the right and keep moving at speed. Plenty of room for two lanes of traffic.

Blaming a guy that had trouble and moved his crap out of traffic lanes doesn't account for shitty drivers being distracted, slowing and being confused. 90% of those driving up there are fucking morons. Laughing at it now is fun...but the same crap is going to happen in the next storm or when some RV overheats and pulls to the shoulder the first warm days.

Unless people make better choices, decide to actually drive when they're behind the wheel and decide to not be distracted by crap it won't change.

As I mentioned before the boat guy wasn't even the problem originally. It was a fool with 2wd and no tires and a chainless semi in front of him that got stuck. Boat guy lost all his momentum.

Now, that doesn't mean he wasn't stupid for towing the boat into that mess regardless

You are coming back to colorado next winter, right?

I hereby challenge you to a ski off.

We can settle this shit once and for all.

Now, for the love of god please stop cunting up this thread.

Back on topic: Looks like a couple inches per day the next few days, and possibly a foot fresh Sunday night into Monday. Should be excellent.

Anybody been up in the Indian peaks area lately? How are things looking?

I was up there the weekend before this last storm and it was good then, so I'd imagine it prime now. Probably pretty sketchy in spots though. There was a slide on Pawnee yesterday.

Sounds like fun. Too bad I don't get reception in the parking lot. I could text you about the conditions you missed and where my space on the beach is that will soon be vacant.

    Carpe Diem.

you are declining the ski off?

There is plenty of rowdy terrain at breck that we could have a ski off on, and I know you get service at breck.

You should go to the corn harvest anyhow. It's not about the conditions.

    Skin up schoolmarm?

I always thought go devil would be a blast untracked, but it seems to get the least snow out of anywhere on the mountain

I didn't get to ski, but those coming down said it was good.

Sunday morning at Winter Park was awesome. Got there about 30 minutes after lifts started spinning, first run was 5-6" of untracked down Railbender, only crossed a couple of tracks the whole thing. Snow was spring pow, with a firm base, but the base wasn't rock hard and the thick pow worked quite nicely with it. Parsenns Bowl was pretty sweet too, and lighter pow. Skied for 2 hours before I had to head out and clean our rental condo. So I missed the actual party, but pow >>>> party.
