Had a great morning at Breck on Friday. Deeps turns on E Chair first thing and then over in Horseshoe Bowl when that opened. Left when they shut down the tbar due to 80mph gusts and went back to work. Skied ABasin on Saturday in the Beavers and Steep Gullies. Thigh deep turns and no tracks in the Beavers was the theme and skiing steep pow in the Gullies was sweet. Skied off the hangover I had from celebrating a friend's bday the night before. Gonna be a sad for me when they put a lift in out there. Sunday was skiing with the fam at Breck for closing day and catching the free Infamous Stringdusters' show. Those guys rip! Fun time. The snow was excellent up high yesterday with soft turns all over and little refreshers from the periodic squalls moving through. No lift lines to speak of either. Given how well Breck was skiing yesterday, it makes me a little sad that the closest lifts are closing. Still got ABasin though.

Glad you guys are getting some, does abasin actually have a plan to put a lift in for beaver/gullies terrain? Or just speculation it will eventually happen?

Do you live in Lawrence? Otherwise, sorry about that Kansas thing. Even then.

Oh, and my whole point, as I said to Dat, is that, if you're drinking so much the night before the mountains expect nearly a foot, and can't get your shit together for the first first tracks in almost a month, arriving at 1pm, you don't deserve a break. Good lord. And he seemed to be proud of that. Maybe if it hasn't snowed in two weeks and you're just waiting for it to soften up, but, a foot of snow? Madone.

    Lawrence, really?

Kansas sucks, but i'll take 3hrs to Taos, 4.5 to Wolf Creek, or 5 to Loveland over NY any day.

There will be a lift down into the bowl but to ski beavers / gullies you will have to traverse all the way out to Pali

Really, isn't Lawrence the only place in KS not full of conservatives? I heard KU was the only thing worth a shit in KS.

    Y-chutes get shredded yet?

Precip in the forecast, but doubtful about any significant amounts.

Don't think so. By the end of the day only North Pole was somewhat tracked. The dropins off the ridge were better than I expected (which was all rock).

so if I goto the basin this week after lunch, do I have to park in the farthest lot away from the lifts or is it ok to park in the close in lot if there is a spot open and no one garding the gate? maybe I should consult my "how to be a local" handbook and see what it says

Sorry, you'll have to park at Keystone.

^^^You'll actually have to park at the Copper Far East lot and take the Gondola Connect Express over to the Basin. The homies at the Basin will not let anyone into the lots or Keystone lots after 10:34.

I want to straighten out some confusion about the A-basin parking. While there ARE guys manning the entrance to the lot, they are only turning away obnoxious out of towners - you know New Yorkers and the like.

Anywho, I hope that means it's snowing up high.

    What a selfish prick.
The boat isn't even close to being in the right hand driving lane. The shoulder there is 3 vehicles wide.

The dumb fucks are the other drivers who are distracted by something shiny. Fuck sticks. The boat guy got it on the shoulder.

Were you there? The Boat was blocking the right lane. The pic shows a stuck semi, and everyone in the right lane going left into the left lane bc of The Boat.

The past couple of pages in this thread have delivered the lulz in a big way.

This combined with digital death / ivplay ski off.... reminds me of 2007 TGR.

Anyhow, looks like a couple more days of this pattern (light afternoon showers, dry mornings) and then maybe sunday night we could get some decent accumulation up high.

After that it looks like things will be getting warmer and drier

I guess that's the official Dat weather report from some cube in Boulder.

Watch the drinking tomorrow night, amigo. That is, if you want to even bother getting to the mountain before 1.
