Hybrid. Price seems ok not crazy low but the skis looked untouched. My demos were minty for sure. Guy was saying that they had a real hard time sending them out. People were put off by the shape.

Thanks for heads up. Hybrid a great build too but partial to the Pure. Can see different folks preferring either. Bit of a DPS fanboy and curious about the reengineered 105s. Love the 99s. Versatile and powerful but may prefer a flatter tail. Anyway....

Quick morning update from the base. It got down to 25 over night with about 1mm of new snow. Not going above freezing today so looks like a groomer zoomer kind of day. Tomorrow will be glorious.

Me thinks they rushed the building of that lift. It was spotty in the early season. It sucks without it as you then have to take 3 lifts to the top.

So I did the rando race today. A few things I learned:
I am slow (I got lapped on the first lap!)
I am dumb (I signed up for the race)
    I am stubborn (I wouldn't quit)

But it was actually a really good time. Set my new personal total vert in one day record.

Hello to whichever mag greeted me from the chair this afternoon!
(And yes, traversing into the woods off of Red Line to pick up the bootpack flags is about as tricky as it looks, ugh ... although better than having to climb up for them in those conditions.)

Maybe a couple inches or so by mid-day today.
Amazing that Red Line was open by sometime in the afternoon -- what great coverage for the end of March!
Would have been better though had they opened it in time for the rando race this morning.
Then again, I did finally realize that we could take Talisman > Bail Out > Link > unnamed cat track not shown on trail map > Red Line for a brief taste of impressive nastiness (i.e., ideal terrain for rando race).

I was wondering about that too!
And also the little rubber duckies?

It was announced but only a few days before the demo, as that is when we got the word back that we could stop by for the demo day. Can't control the snow, and we have a fleet sitting out there, so we are trying to send it out regardless of conditions. The report/numbers of I get from the demo indicated it went pretty well, especially considering the conditions.

The Kartel seemed to be much more appropriate for health and safety (and fun) purposes. It is too bad Saturday wasn't the demo day, but it was still cool to take some skis out for a spin on the home turf.
Thanks for taking the skis out. We're working on some new skis for 16/17 that should be a bit more functional everyday out east.

Excluding our clown skis, what would appeal to you?

As Brendan is new at this, everything is being planned in PDX for the time being and unfortunately without much notice. Normally our demo planning is done months in advance, but we didn't know that fleet as going to be out there until a week before they got on the plane to go out. We've also have had a difficult time getting resorts to call us back (even when we know we have the right contact), so our options on such short notice have been limited. The initial part of the tour was also pretty specific due to retailers we are hoping to work with, so it was almost a retailer tour as much as it was a public demo tour.

If you have info to share, you can always email it to me and I will make sure I get it to the right people for planning next season.

As for trying skis, we're going to be back at Magic a week from today, Sunday 4/5.

We got word we could demo at Magic just a few days before the demo and put it out on our social media, but only so much you can do in a matter of days. As you said, no controlling the weather or conditions either.

We'll be back at Magic a week from today (4/5). Hope you can make it out and try some skis.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

I think it is pretty dope ON3P showing up at Magic. Stars don't always align but hopefully next outing goes well for all involved.

"Regular" skis, Rusty? No longer a one concept fits all market place as I am sure you know. I am of the ski what works for you mindset and let others judge what works for them. Granted sounds like it may have been a tough day to judge.

Iggy, no offense meant. Apologies. Just didn't think the whole thing made any sense mainly because of Magic's/ON3P whoever's lack of communication. Doremite, I know i'm the minority but I've had no success on "similar" skis. Having said that, maybe these are not similar & i'd love to give a pair a rip next weekend.

I'm excited for an ON3P demo day even if it isn't ideal conditions for their skis. I have a pair of (2nd Gen) Billy Goats which I love for soft snow, but my every day skis are more traditional. I'm eager to try some of their narrower (well, narrower than the Billy Goats) models. Hopefully we can test their slush bump capabilities.

As the pictures suggest, it was another good day of skiing today. I was only up for the day so I had to get too much skiing in to really patronize the ice bar, but it looked like a blast. Hopefully it makes another appearance.

Just throwing it out there trying to be helpful. Just hit Ash up if you think there's anything we can facilitate from this end, be it opening a door at the mtn, exposure etc. We would love to help in any way. You won't get much aside from a thumbs up from management (if you can get ahold of anyone) and that can be a pain.

Thanks for putting together the EC demo fleet though, that's awesome. I'm really looking forward to trying them! I think people are way underestimating the agility and versatility of a few models.

I can't believe people still search for the perfect ski for Magic when the SuperBro already exists.....

'sploders are an excellent 2nd option

We'll be back up for Friday & Saturday but need to get back to CT for easter dinner on Sunday so I won't have a chance to finish what Radam started and find the speed limit of those On3p Wren's. Assuming they even come in big boy sizes.

Anyhow, it was another great weekend. Light snow most of the day saturday, and sunshine all day on Sunday. The sunshine corner bar is always a winner.

More firsts for the 5yo this weekend. It's fkna awesome now that he's 'turned the corner' and we can ski as a family all day instead of the Mrs & I switching off with babysitting in the lodge. Not satisfied with a mere black diamond, the boy wanted to ski a double black. Off to Sorcerer:

Little man slayed it! Nice turns and kept great control of his speed on the steep sections.

Real proud of the little bugger. Pretty soon we'll be skipping school for powder days

I got yelled at for kid stoke in another thread, so I am donning my insult-proof/flame-retardent suit after posting this because I don't care. My boy had a great day yesterday (and so did his mom)

lolsuperbros. Do not want. All I need is a pair of 'Sploders and my Magics and I'm good.

Love that the little dude is catching on so fast! As soon as they turn that corner there is no stopping it. Our little man tucked out Hocus Pocus top to bottom about 8 times this weekend. It's his new favorite thing and it's a little scary.

Spring Fling was yet another great weekend. Skiing was great, kid stoke all-time, food, friends, you name it. I took some pics. Hardly any of skiing which is still stellar.

It was sunny. Sunshine Corner bar........

    Magic is upscale.

    Chairlift bev's

    Tito's delivery.

Patrol checking in. Note snowball flying toward him.

Oh' wait. here's a skiing pic.

    FKN Show Off.

Big Air Champion!! He got yelled at,............again. This was the 2nd time he had his pass "pulled" in one day.

I enjoy the kid stoke. Magic has a great family vibe, and I love to bring my kid there!

I was there on Sat with my 7 year old, and I finally gave into all of his begging to ski Red Line. He did pretty damn well, and he loved all the encouragement from the lift! We also took an ill-advised run down Green Line, as well as a few other challenging spots. It was a great day.
