had the same conversation yesterday, no snow for two months and tons snow april may just like a couple years ago

my bet is warm weather with a storm a week with 8-12 inches a storm cycle, breck did pretty well at the begining of the week

moving uller fest the first week of january jinxed everything, they want to capitolize on college kids spending money, it should be the end of jan early feb when the moon and the sun align perfectly to make it snow, not drunk college kids

I have no problem with warm sunny weather for a week or two. Snow is holding up fine around here. Enjoy the weather as it comes to you, because you can't do anything to change it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this season, even the last month. But, an entire month or more of no significant storms is not my idea of winter. The snowpack won't do well going into next week's forecast of really warm days. For BC, they couldn't ask for better weather and conditions to make for fast skiing with the races coming up.

Agree about the worlds, should make for fast tracks as long as it doesn't get too warm on the hill.

Thank the lawd for those two big cycles at the end of Nov/Dec - without those we'd be in deep doo doo, 2011-12 style.

Long range models show more of the same until 2-12 thru 2-22 when the CFSv2 super long range model shows the ridge going away and snow returning. I leave for a weekend in San Diego on the 13th so thT sounds about right. Point is, a small storm here or there but continued mostly really warm and dry thru the first week of Feb as of now. Spring break conditions come early! BBQ, beer, decks, sunshine, and google tans!

Perfect timing. That's right when I return from Japan. Will be fun to escape to the land of snow for a couple weeks.

The hardest part about going skiing in Japan? Making sure you tell enough of your friends about it. Way to work that into the conversation.

I predict freak storms for the World Cup. The weather always seems to screw the volunteers and race crew. Expect more of the same.

Boss, I like the cut of your jib.

SkiHOG, I have a pair to throw on the pyre. The clouds of greasy P-tex smoke will be seen from on high, flakes will fall.

Wasn't it scientifically proven that p-tex is one of the greatest cloud seeding chemicals on earth? Happy bonfire kids.

WP was skiing quite nice this past week. A foot of accumulation spread of 2 1/2 days does that.

Contrary to popular belief, I still ski. The Indian Peaks area had some nice leftover snow from Tuesday's storm, but it was windy as fuck up there.

At least he can brag without fear of the internet hordes following him, let alone snaking his intentions if he makes a single peep about plans. I'm at the point where I feel like I can't make a single brag without repercussions. Just gotta shut up and ski.

That said, Winter Park/Jane was pretty sweet on Thurs and Fri.

My little low-tech weather station thingy precip alarm just went off about 15 minutes ago. It has been right about 70-80% of the time within the following 24 hours or so.
Starting volunteer work tomorrow, so it just may be right.

47 today it'll be 10* warmer tomorrow. Resort skied ok considering. Some dirt showing in spots but holding up ok for now. Quiet today, I guess the 303 wasn't interested in greybird hardpack.

Heard it snowed a little in Summit this morning. Just missed us...not that it sounded like a lot.
