I think you saw our tracks last year Snow Spirit

Nice line Jefe, wish I could have joined the fun this year, but I didn't have a rock board on hand for the Okanagan's surprise urban ski-mo season. I did send a farmers field in rutland on a crazy carpet, and have the severely bruised butt to prove it

gotta love pretending you live in a real ski town when your stuck in the city

Boot deep old powder/broken down crust/hoar frost combo in the Valhallas yesterday. Woke to 10cm of new snow at Red.

wow that 10c at WW skied way better than expected!

Did a few runs with my friend and her 3 year old, getting her to follow me through some pow and little jumps. that was super fun.

5cm at Sun Peaks really softened up the groomers, while off piste is still crunchy, grabby, and difficult to turn in, but better than before.

Friday's 10cm at Red Mountain skied like more, and has brought coverage to the point where top to bottom charging is finally a reality. Another 18cm overnight, with temperatures holding, so should be a fun one today.

Kicking horse skied nice today. Snow report said 1cm but mostly boot to mid shin deep turns up high. Lower mountain still needs more base but I guess you could avoid the rocks if you were careful (I wasn't).

Raining (valley bottom) for quite a while on the drive back south, I though tomorrow was meant to be the warm day 😬

    Wrong thread Jong. ;-)

I guess the Cnd R thread is buried so deep that we've forgotten about it.

    How's Pano skiing?

For the last week I have been in Revelstoke skiing and nothing else. There was very little new snow but it did present the opportunity to get into some pretty awesome spots. We were pretty active with about a 110km of distance and over 8000m of sking in 5 days. I have never chased people so fast uphill as the crew I was out with. Relentless would be an understatement. Reviewing our elevation gain during the days there were healthy doses of 600m/hr paces. It felt more like sprinting than ski touring.

The conditions were old snow on a persistent slab that got better as the week progressed.

This week we skied Christiana trees, 7 Steps of Paradise, North bowl of cheops, Bruins bowl/8812, The dome/cleaver, 8812 bowl and Video peak.

The sun kept poking its head out just in the perfect times late afternoon to get great vis while descending. I have never got to ski so many classics in one week. It was made way easier with Doug Sproul's new guidebook and map.

It was a very satisfying adventure and the best part is it is snowing hard and we have another full week of skiing. The avalanche danger is creeping up. This week will be a little more mellow with some resort skiing, sledding and a few days in the pass to tick another few gems.

Thanks grinch it was very rewarding. Kinda been in a ski funk with the crap snow the last little be. Got the stoke engine fired up again. The last day of video and 8812 link up just about did me in. 3 days off sledding and skiing the hill since. Feeling the itch again to go after it. Looks like pow turns till I head home !

weeelll KH is in the Purcells after all.

Working in town now so I'm not up at Pano so much anymore. Although I was paragliding there last weekend & coverage looked decent from above, but I didn't explore round too much.

How is kimberley skiing? Recovered from the light early season yet?

Crack o noon club for a hike to Mac peak to run down Montana and out catchers mitt. A touch of wind press from the peak and started to feel the temp crust near the bottom of Montana basin. Over the boots and knee deep pockets of fresh down into basin. Great skiing around tree line

Awesome and way to use the high pressure. We're thinking of coming out next week to do the same. Let this new storm snow settle out a bit and tour high

Should have said we had some easy fractures from ski cuts on the temp crust maybe 40cm down a few hiundeed ft down from tree line . I would think on open steep it could run sways and fast and build enough to step down. Heads up hockey continues but might clear and cool tonight

so guys/gals, making my annual trip up to BC again this year. Going to hit red and WW again. Hoping conditions are better at WW this year since the terrain is awesome, but conditions left something to be desired last year.

Last year I snagged tickets for the hills at Costco since it saves a couple bucks. Is this still solid, or is there anywhere else I should look to save some coin? Thanks all

Red is only discounting tickets on their own website for 2014/15. Conditions are pretty good at the moment.

Whitewater needs about a 200cm alpine base in order to be "go anywhere". They are reporting 178cm base so they are getting close. Red is, I'm guessing, getting close as well.

WW has improved a lot in the last week. The Glory chair trees are still pretty sketch due to hazards. The Summit chair stuff is good though, just a few tights spots from uncovered stuff. I think Red does more summer grooming so they may have less shnarbs and alders. A friend went on Sunday and said it was super excellent.

Don't know about any ticket deals.

    When will you be here?

Heads up out there in the Revy area. Still lots of surface hoar related activity. Was out hitting some local stuff since the pass was pretty much a write off today with avi control and highway closures. Shooting cracks and related BS still occurring.

Where? Fingers? Begbie? How is access down low? Still bushy? Pass weather looked fine. Strange that it was closed - perhaps catching up on things to do?

Begbie. Coverage is good not great. Don't know how it was lower down as we used the sled to get up high.

Plan was the pass today. It is probably out of hand good in the trees But nothing has been open since sunday. Things are really touchy so I assume it is both a little catch up and public management.

Thanks for the intel guys. I will be heading up there on 03-09 March. WW seems to be getting close, thanks for the numbers. Last year was a little tough since it warmed up, then froze over. Still had the best breakfast in the area. Going to be bouncing between red and WW, staying around Nelson.

WW always has good ticket deals, seems Red is cracking down on that. if any of yall are around that time, be glad to buy another mag a brew.
