Took my fatty for a spin last week in the rain and it was damn fun! Air pressure was dialed as comfortable as I've ever had it for dirt, but sure would love a bluto. But, I don't think this bike will ever see one. I think I'll upgrade before doing that.

We have a similar spot that is bridgeless at the moment. I'd say it's at least 30', so the whole bridge will have to be 40ish or more and the height might be 8' or so. It's really too big of a project $$$ wise to do without group support. But since this is currently under the radar being on a mix of private and conservation land we'll be walking the section for the foreseeable future.

Time for a little lunchtime ride/build session.

the entire material cost on this bridge was roughly 800 dollars your cost should not be that different. ....... the beams were heavy. 5 people lifting them was barely enough.

like I said though the guys who did the majority of the work and designed it, made it so it will never fall apart. Its overbuilt with 3 2x12 laminated together and waterproof tape over the beams. Erik T and Mike Thomas did an amazing job of building/organizing the build.

Yeah, I was wondering what they were placing on top of the joist. Seems like they'd be better off with PT, but that shit is kind of nasty. Anything laminated will trap moisture which will lead to rot, so soaking the stuff in some sort of waterproofing wouldn't hurt.

alright kid, nice stoke, keep it up 'eob'!

i used to hate 'stick' season, but now i think it might be my favorite time to ride.
no bugs, low dewpoints, long sight lines, all good stuff.

Fun, but only one trail leads to some traffic jams. One mile long with some nice bermed turns. It will be considered their beginner trail when they are done.

Quite the variety of riders, from little kids to dudes on big bikes with those neck braces.

Very happy that this has replaced that deadly amalgamation of rotten wood and scrap lumber that used to span that brook. Serious pucker factor on a night ride.

Anyone want to join for the North-South Rhode Island trail tomorrow? Shoot me a PM if you want to join. Would be nice to have a car at each end! In going either way, but would rather not have to ride it both directions in a day.

Thanks, bruise started to come through by the end of the weekend. I'm cautiously hoping I can be pedaling around Thanksgiving, but we'll see.

Raked and laid down some dead trees to mark the new section today...finished! Maybe 5 hours or so, 5-6 hornet stings, 1 tick, and a whopping .2 miles (per strava) added to my lunch time ride!

Anospa: Lamesauce. Heal up for split season yo. And the same day I brought Myrtle the Bronson home too. Dang.

Ticks: so brutal right now. Colder weather please.

Edit: Have to mention- Doon and Kinley at Green Mountain Bikes in Rochester are arrresome. Go there, spend money, eat pizza out of the brick oven in the back yard, go on a RASTA group ride, take in Doon's wife's art in her gallery next door and just generally bask in the awesomeness. Made it a point to buy my bike from them based on what I had read and heard in spite of being an hour away, and I am very glad I did. My experience there exceeded my high expectations.

Nice to see QB and KT working together with T-Bar Films to make this short movie.
