teh funny thing is, ryan, those sub half hour races were so fucking hard. Twas basically a 1/2-3/4 mile sprint down a flat wide dirt road to a wicked tight bottleneck of a singletrack entrance. So picture 60-70 folks lined up 8 wide 8 deep and full on sprinting to a one person width trail entrance with rocks and roots that stopped the roadies in their tracks. So then picture racing a ss with 32-18 and getting to the woods in like 50th place and having to spend the next 4-5 miles of narrow singletrack trying to pass a bunch of gearies in the tight twisties with punchy ups/downs, then have to spin like mad for the final mile of flat road while trying not to get passed by all the gearies that you passed in the woods. So hard. So good. No endurance races i've done hurt like that. Cept for maybe jay challenge.

That's racing, haters gonna hate, butthurtz gonna be butthurtz.

Next time yer out this way, ryan, we should ride aggy.

Oh I know... attempted one of those races last summer and was thoroughly defeated. Got absolutely dropped on the first road sprint, starting passing a few people in the woods, and then flatted on a rock or root I couldn't see since we were so tightly packed in there. Didn't bring a tube since it was such a short race, so ended up walking back to the start, defeated.

Still seems high school bush league stuff to be bitching back and forth about results there. But yeah, I'll keep Aggy in mind next time I'm back in town... if I can ever split off for a free day thought on a non-winter visit, I'll definitely be running straight for Highland.

    Yo Rog.

Not that any of this matters but.... I think you're only recalling half of what I told you.

Yes, Buttah was smoking and coughing most of the ride... BUT even despite the coughing I also said that he easily kept up with what I consider I decently paced ride.

But really though, who gives a shit? Can we go back to actually talking about riding?!

who new those short races would be so hard. Even the fastest doods who are some of the fastest in ne were totally shelled at the end. Everyone wished the races were longer so that you could at least settle in a bit. Nope

Hey, fish boy brought it up. Talking big? Shit bushwacker and i were talking about back pain and fitness/strength and riding bikes. I never said i was the fastest guy around, i mean i ride a fatbike for hecks sake.

If I didn't live in the cluster fuck roadways on the coast, I 'might' be inclined to buy a roadie bike, but I'd still wear my mtn bike gear and wave to the other bikers. When I was rehabbing my knee i used to take my bar bike up the coast wearing birks for shoes and pass 'some' of the weenies that looked the part. That was always fun. Of course the real weenies would blow by me.

Anyone want to ride tomorrow in NH/VT? Free all day. Up from anything within 1 or so hours of Lebanon, NH so Stowe, KT, STAB, Franklin Falls, Millstone, etc. would be in play. Bushwhacker any chance you're around? Would love to do another Stowe ride.

Rog, sticking around Leb this weekend so Aggy is a bit too far for me. North Conway though sometime...

I am working, unless you are really early riser. I could start at like 7:30 or 8 for a couple hour ride before work. can you ride on the 5th? two sundays from now.
