Well.....let's just say it had what I needed. What you would probably expect from a range that doesn't get any attention for biking; rugged with lots of hike-a-bike. Tons of amazing views though and lots of trails, great camping and a lot of campsite entertainment watching hordes of what Sam referred to as "sportsmen" trying to find elk to kill.

From what I've heard it has many issues similar to the La Sals: Long-ass approaches if you don't have a sled, typically wind hammered snow or outright blown off the peaks, and sketchy/fickle snowpack is the norm. But, if you can get in and time it right, some serious goods to be had.

Sounds about right. Off the radar area for sure.

In and around Boulder and the Colorado High Country getting acquainted with the new bike on some rides here and there, nothing special, but having a blast....

    Staring me down

messing around in the fun park

i know, i know, i need some friends to ride with, but that's it for now, got a trip to crested butte coming up this weekend so hopefully more from there
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

This is from two weeks ago -- the last time it was actually sunny here on the weekend.

We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

A little Gorilla Glue and some very fine grit wet/dry paper took care of things.
