People that complain about conditions, also, people that call to ask if it's worth coming out today.

^I would kinda disagree on your last point. After skiing 30 days+ in ontario this year, when you wake up and you know it's going to be icy, it's hard to get motivated.

I think I understand why you are angry sometimes.

Out of curiosity, how many people?

We have about 350 over 2 floors. There are 4 normal home sized fridges spread throughout and 3 giant commercial double door fridges. I think the three biggest problems are
1 - The size of the bags people bring their food in.
2 - People not bringing their shit home every day.
3 - People that bring ingredients to make food for the week and store it there instead of making it every morning (think sandwhich ingredients).

Unless you have a refrigerator nazi, that shit happens in every office everywhere. In an office that big, I'm sure you have a cleaning crew. Just have your facilities guy instruct them to empty it 100% on Fridays.

The last office I worked in, which was good job most of the time, I refused to go in the breakroom. Nothing good ever happens in there. We had a coffee maker in our dept. with a mini fridge for milk, pack your lunch in a cooler and be done with that nonsense.

Establishments that start closing half an hour before closing time. If the sign says 9:00PM then don't start mopping the floors until I leave or 9:00PM, whichever comes first. How many cents on the dollar more do we need to pay for stuff so that employers will pay their staff to clean up AFTER fucking closing time? I don't blame the employees, I blame the employers. If I am eating a meal or working out at the gym, it don't matter, I paid to be there and I want to use the space if it is open. You can kick me out at 9:00, bounce me out on my ass. If it is closed then I get that. I am not asking for it to be open longer.

I resemble that remark. One job I had I worked the night shift and since we were bored at times every month I would throw everything out that was in the fridge. The time and date was well publicized in advance. We shared the same space as the much larger day staff. If a lunchbox had a name on it, it would go on the person's desk, contents and all. We had fewer problems after that. Lunch boxes with no names would get the contents dumped in the trash and then the box would go in the lost and found. That took care of the rest of it.

you would think these are the only people that ever had a fucking baby. when i walked in and saw her parents friends there i was amazed that anyone could be so fucking self centered to invite people in their 60s to that, and expect a gift no less.

didnt even let the kid smear cake all over herself, spoon fed (so symbolic i almost laughed).

I HATE when people have a celebration for everything. Who are you, the fucking king of England??!!!

There is no need for an engagement party unless it is an informal thing like a party at a bar.

As for kid's birthday's, I barely go when my son has one to go to. One of the mom's has the fucking nerve to make her daughter's bday party at 10am. Also, for my neice's bday parties, I will go up until they are 3, but if I have a prior engagement then I am sticking with it. I know my wife doesn't like that, but such is life.

    corporate america

in the midst of going being fully self-employed to part-time self-employed.

Went to an interview and wanted to walk out immediately.

I know corporate america is a pet peeve of mine and I think I am getting tired of working in an office.

Watching all these people kiss each other's asses while waiting for the HR person irked me in every way possible.

Whats wrong with that, you never have to bring lunch to work its already there.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Sure corporate culture is fucked, but HR people are nothing but sand in the gears of the hiring process. Also useless once you are hired, but you have to be on their good side b/c they potentially wield so much power.

No, but if I were hungry and found food I might eat it. If I only could find that incriminating pic from the sox game.

    I hear ya.

I don't really mind HR. When I was employed by a company that had HR, I just deleted every email they sent. Never backfired so no worries there.

I do despise headhunters. Next one that lies to me, I am going awol on them and will have no regrets. Don't tell me the job offers a base of $60k plus comm when it is 100% comm.
