I have heard rumors that they're trying to get the carpet and Little T open over at West for the enrollees in their consecutive week lessons program which starts this weekend. But at the moment they're both short on snow AND staff as many have left for other areas where there's both work AND snow...

Sorry, not sorry, for the bummin' picture. It is the state that we are in... Which blows.

I'll be burning some skis among other plastic goods tonight for Ullr. you should too.

Bleak. Seems like Snoqualmie needs to invest in some snow making in the near future for events like this where precip and cold never match up.

Hopefully it starts snowing at the ski areas sometime soon.

The patrol was trimming by hand with clippers at Mission ridge on Tuesday. I can echo the above report of the conditions there. Sugary, spring like snow pretty fun and soft when consolidate but icy icy death underneath.
Common sense. So rare today in America it's almost like having a superpower.

ID:	147771 Stevens was money this morning. Crowded but tomorrow should be great for side country touring. 8-10 inches fresh . It stayed cloudy and cold enough that it stayed relatively light all day

Yes , The bowl empties into the trees followed by a lot of traversing to get back inbounds. Well worth it though.

Quite nice. Underlying ice was starting to get exposed towards the end of the day, but morning was great (at least for this season)

Jacob Mandell in the thick of some unexpected storm riding. It's good to have winter back, if only for a bit

Really nice Friday morning at Baker, even if I was in charge of the kids on chair 8. My 10-year-old girl called it "wonderful." Got some payback hitting the trees off sticky wicket just after patrol opened them in the afternoon. Looked like a bluebird day up there on the way back to the big city today. Not sure about BC today with all that new snow on top of ice though. I'm sure we'll have a report here soon though.

There's a heli flying laps in the alpental valley. A guy told me that two people missing by chair peak. I'm hoping for the best.

I only touched bottom a handful of times today skiing around Herman. I nearly forgot how fucking awesome that feels.

No snow in a month, followed by a bluebird. What is this, Colorado?

Also it was warm and southern facing stuff looked to be getting sketchy. Watched someone set off a big loose slide on Herman around noon.

There were cars parked halfway down the highway toward yodelin at Stevens today. Wow, what a zoo. Went touring in Skyline ridge area, lots of poor skin track placement and general malarkey. Crazy amount of people and lots of "lemming" skiers in full effect. Some of the main access points over the ridge are now so skied/side-slipped out that it looks like the resort.

    Tye peak is tracked out.

It's good skiing in the shade, all the sun exposed stuff got cooked. If you go a little further, where the trees are a little tighter or where it isn't immediately visible from the ridge, the goods await.

Crystal had a stupid amount of people (as mentioned above) but the snow in the southback was pretty good, sadly one of the best days of the year. It's pretty track out now though

worked hard for the goods in the Stevens slack today. Best bets are north thru east facing slopes above 4.5k. Beware thin cover in tight trees, we found ourselves walking down the bottom of a favorite line below 4k that empties out into the nordic trail system. Lotsa creek holes down low, too

Yeah that was weird, I was told avalanche and possible burial? I can't say for Chair Peak all the way up, but it was pretty bomber conditions and sparkly sugary snow everywhere I was below 5500ft. 7 laps, I'm toast.

    S&R:

    Early runs

Good snow up top, lots of people out after 10am

Move upside and let the man go through...

Beautiful day with most excellent skiing in the Stevens vicinity today, too bad the drive home sucked so much ass. Fuck that highway.

    Lake skintrack stoke

Good views out to the mountain loop and even up to Baker

No good action shots today, but here's one with Glacier Peak in the background

Man those are beautiful photos. The PNW is so awesome when the sun shines. I spent 7 years out there and sometimes I miss it. Be out in Seattle next weekend on business and have two days to ski with my cousin. By the looks of the 10-day forecast I might be bringing the snow with me. Let's hope!!
