Nice and cold morning here in the east siders banana belt. First morning that the Connecticut has been mostly covered in ice, too. That's always a welcome sight.

Looks sweeet, but as rog would say - why are the tracks so far apart? There's lots of room there

Ended up bailing on the early morning skin today. 3-4" isn't enough to make me kick myself for being lazy, although I'll probably see some pictures that will change my mind on that from TC.

What's this "getting up early" bullshit you guys are talking about? Real fuckin men just stay up all night and then rip 30" of fresh the whole next day. Ask ISBD and TheNaton. They'll tell you.

Saturday, huh? I think they're going to open Saturday. I'd be more inclined to go tomorrow, skin up, snake all those lift riders, and steal their powder....

Too late to go today, but yes.. tomorrow is a possibility. They updated their snow report at 10am and now say 38" at the base 47" up top, with plenty more on the way. NOAA says an extra 1-2 feet from today thru tomorrow...

I'm finding that I keep getting hypnotized by DoWork's avatar at work today...

Have a buddy looking for some cheap ski boot liners. Not for touring, doesn't have to be anything epic. Any thoughts?

    Does http://cheapskibootlinersdirect.com work?

Sounds like a thin but bombproof start of a base for the Sherb - 3" rime/ice at Pinkham, 7" at summit and AMC says: Trails: Below the hut, unbroken snow with a base of ice, light traction is necessary. Above the hut, base layer of ice with snow on top of it, crampons are necessary.

My dad always used to tell me about that place.. "you're driving there and there's no snow anywhere.. then all of a sudden.."

does it have some decent pitch?

Fun bday show! Had a great time at that show, somebody's parents paid for a shuttle bus to take 15-20 us from the Princeton train station to the show because they didn't want all of us driving up there again after the previous night's show, apparently a few of us came home in "questionable" condition. We probably all ended up getting more effd up than the night before since nobody had to drive.

100+ mile views to the east from the top of the Sun Mountain today. It looked like the ADKs were socked in though.
