Moot point, I just couldn't convince myself it was the right move for me at this time.

The GM and the Mountain Manager seemed like stand up guys.

They do need a Patrol Director and the money was there.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Coming from 4 Corners I could see the lack of social and cultural options being a let down.

    2. Just got back from Kellogg ID. anyone have any thoughts about Silver Mountain? Good or bad?
I have the family 4 pass there this year. Killer deal for a fam. Cool small hill family vibe. No real rad terrain, you'll be underwhelmed coming from BS/Moonlight as that is where I came from to this area. That said it does have some cool tree skiing and since it closes Tu and Wed, Thursday can be FAT. The Gondola kinda sux. Limited hiking access some OK stuff. No idea on M.O. though.

    I don't think so.

There was a guy from there who was real active on TGR, but he dropped off the radar a few years back (Ashean).

You might try the Missoula thread, as I know some Kalispell people post there ("Nuking in Missoula")

I'm in WFish - shoot me a PM if you need info or whatever.

There's a few guys around northern MT that post on here, but not enough to warrant its own thread. SW MT (this thread) gets different weather patterns, and the Missoula thread is just a bunch of squabbling about whatever the Snowbowl drama of the moment is.

We pretty much get the same storms as you southern bc folks, usually with a bit less snow. But we have cheaper beer, so it's a wash (or so I tell myself).

I think this is your 13/14 SW Montana thread.

But you certainly have a second on nuking that squabble fest in the Missoula thread. Same with the Bridger thread. It's part of SW Montana, no?

Bobcat Sig, you are the OP, so it is your choice, but I agree you should just make this a perpetual thread. Some good stoke photos in here. Maybe contact TGR about taking the 2012 out of the thread title ? Or can you modify thread titles on your own now ? Seems like I saw a post about that at one time.

Don't delete the Missoula thread. There is some funny shit in there.

The Bridger thread has been going for years now. It should stay it's own thread, lots good stoke in there.

My opinion is that we need snow that isn't going to melt, and a few hundo feet of nice boot top pow turns before a new thread is considered...and photos to prove it.

My one day on snow so far didn't meet any of those criteria...

    Anyone?

This has definitely existed here in SW Montana the last 4 weeks! (Although I can't speak to it lasting forever as I don't have a crystal ball) I've got 5 great days of skiing. This from 10/5:

Nice! I'm also jealous. I keep convincing myself that there isn't enough snow to get out and then I see shots like this and know that I'm way off.
Take me with you next time?

I've dumped one of these in most of the regional threads because folks tend to only stick with their local thread and look no further, so here's the Montana version. Updated hourly and now with some Canadian stations (if you click the link)

If you aren't busy tonight, come out to the Best Western and watch some top-notch skiing and snowboarding that went down in your back yard last season. It's free, there's a bar, and it isn't at the Emerson. Hope to see some of you maggots there! Click image for larger version.
