    I've been on a sour kick recently myself. Rodenbach Grand Cru and Duchess are awesome because they are good and available. I'm a Flemish Red fan. New Belgium's La Folie has been excellent in some years, though I'm guessing it isn't strictly a Flemish Red.

    Worst hangover of my life was after a "Sour Beer Night" during San Diego's Beer Week.

    I had the pleasure of drinking a 2006 New Belgian cork and cage La Folie recently. Probably the best American sour I've tasted. Lost Abbey Cable Car is probably a close second.

    Two recent tart farmhouse beers I had that were excellent:

    Commons "Myrtle," made with a lemony kind of hop. Excellent beer. Portland, OR
    Brouwerij West "My First Rodeo" wild beer. Lightly hopped, nice mild straw, just the right amount of tart on a hot day. Thumbs up. Palos Verdes, CA

    Also had a Cascade Apricot Sour ... it was good ... but too god damn sour. Holy shit, just splitting that 750 between me and my buddy was hard. And I normally love Cascade, so, you know. It's fucking sour.

    Yah the first two are the sours to measure other sours by. Hanssens is pretty good too and usually readily available. There are a couple that mix with Cantillon that I can't remember( anybody?). I also haven't heard anybody mention the Upland "lambics." Upland makes some REALLY good stuff. You would probably have to trade for Upland if you're not in Ohio but I think they do a little (close state?) distribution. It would be nice to try some of Cantillon and 3Fonts more rare beers but it's hard to get anything by them.

    Edit: Cascades as mentioned above are supposed to be good. Never had one.

    Sounds like someone has a wallet to find some nice sours. Ironically when I was Scuba diving in Bonaire this last December, the woman who has been in charge of the New Belgian sours (she's been in charge for 15 years now) was on my dive boat all week. It was quite the coincidence. She didn't hurt the eyes in a bikini either.

    Edit: The current New Belgium Sours are pasturized on the way to bottling when she thinks they are ready so they are meant to drink NOW and not to age. She mentioned aging anything new was going to make it taste off in her opinion according to an article she was interviewed in that someone posted in TGR.

    Had Crooked Stave Burgundy Sour a few weeks ago. Wow. Knocked my socks off. When one of the best beers I've ever had.

    Boulder Mags - anybody go to the sour tap takeover at Backcountry Pizza yesterday? Amazing. 30+ sour taps plus a couple firkins. Place was raging. Probably still a bunch left. Also doing a Bouldevard pint night tonight.

    I've got a 1/6b of La Folie with my name on it sitting in the walk-in cooler at work right now. But it'll have to wait until I'm done with my current 1/6b of Yeti. I had wanted to set up a dual regulator system so that I could run them both, but after looking at the cost of adding a second reg, shank/faucet, and sankey I decided I'd rather spend that money beer instead of beer supplies.

    Oh, and FWIW the Crooked Stave/MHWS collaboration of Zeke's Belly Up Citrus Surette was pretty slick. It was Crooked Stave's standard Saison aged in a 10y Eagle Rare barrel with Valencia orange juice and zest added.

    Why is this thread so fucking old already? Been hitting the sours hard lately. The good folks at Crooked Stave are still brewing some amazing sours and are also distributing Prairie Artisan Ales and Almanac in CO. Wow. Spendy as fuck but just....wow. Do it.

    I should also mention Odd 13 Brewing in Lafayette, CO. They are doing a very nice job in this department.

    De garde in Tillamook has a Bu weisse Berliner that is really good, and not too spendy. Unfortunately I've only seen their beer one and I got the last bottle but I'm keeping my eyes open. And may stop there if I go to the coast this year

    Been getting into sours a lot over the last year here. Have a Tart of Darkness down and a few others on deck in the basement calling my name. It's all I can do to hold of cracking one open every night.

    If you can find it, Backacre Sour Golden is awesome. Southern VT distribution for the most part, but I just saw that Lord Hobo in Cambridge, MA is serving bombers (for $30!):

    This! I've mentioned them in the IPA thread a few times, but man, their sours are kicking ass. I can't remember the names of all the ones I've tried, but they've all been excellent. Not too spendy yet either it seems.

    Have a Supplication in the fridge that this thread is inspiring me to pop open.

    Rodenbach Grand Cru was my first sour, and it opened my eyes. Unfortunately, I've never seen it in Colorado. Anyone know if it's available out here, preferably near Boulder?

    Also, if you find yourself near Solana Beach (just north of San Diego), check out Culture Brewing Company. Dropped in randomly a few weeks ago and they had several excellent sours on tap (as well as one of the best, crazy-hoppy-but-balanced black IPAs I've had).

    Rodenbach GC does make it's way to Co although the availability has been somewhat spotty since it was first released here. That's a cool introduction to the style though. Not mega-hateful-tart but nicely balanced and easy to sip. Ask your favorite LLS to get it in for you.

    edit: CDC (Coors) distributes it in our market. That should make it super easy for your local to get it for you.
