Costco liquor, beer and wine can get some unusual items in. A couple of years ago, they had Chateau Petrus for a very short while. Excellent price of 700 per bottle.

Just came across some 2000 Anchor Christmas Ale. Yes, 13 years old. It will either be awesome or disgusting. Aged at room temp in the dark. Anyone interested in 1 or 2? I have a few to share with friends.

You can't have my 2011 Alaskan Barleywine. I'm keeping that a bit longer.

    ^ wrong thread!!!

Stone RuinTen in bottle. Muuuuch malty for a Stone beer, probably their maltiest IPA I've had, but not too much of that syrup feel. Pretty good ... but I was more in the mood for fresh west coast style of Enjoy By that night. I've got another bottle of the RuinTen that I might like better with some grilled food or something ...

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed in bottle. Much better than their bottled brews that they normally distribute out of state - reminded me of a Fresh Hop Mirror Pond in nose and flavor but in an IPA style in terms of malt/alcohol.

I've had some aged 5-6 years and it was awesome.

    Simple:Simcoe from SARA is solid.

Gotta give a shout out to Good Life's Descender IPA. This latest batch is top notch.

I have a magnum of 2000 Old Rasputin that is going to be amazing when I finally open it.

Recently drank my last vertical of 2007, 2008, 2009 Alaskan Smoked Porter. I had a few of each I've drank over the last 3 years. That shit gets way better with age.

Don't even ask about my collection of SN Bigfoot.

Newish brewery in DC makes a decent PNW-style IPA: The Corruption.

Just go with me on this .....

Earlier..... I Cut the grass then took apart a clothes dryer and actually fixed it on the first shot.

Now.......Two bats in, just finisher a Heady Topper and about to crack a another one. Life is good.

Sorry for the blog. Was not sure where to post this and figured this would be as good a spot as any.

Drinking these right now. Both are much, much better than last year. Prieta is super hoppy and has that white wine / lavender dish soap quality from the Nelson hops (not a bad thing ... Nelson oils make really fine foam) and the Coma is a bit more balanced than the Preita. Still not up to 2011's amazing standard, but Coma is very good this year.

And as Coma warms up, it gets really solid. Reminds me a lot of Alpine Pure Hoppiness. Well worth the hunt for you Bay Area types.

Need to start thinking about my next Bay Area trip.

The 8/2/13 Enjoy By is not doing it for me the way the last one we got (4/20/13??) did. Still good. Just a step below it seems. Felt that the last batch was absolutely amazing. I thought the same about the November '12 and December '12 batches as well. Have a few Ruintens in the fridge may have to crack one today.

On the underwhelming note - 2013 Hoptimum. Harsh, boozy.

Ok. Just had some Enjoy By from the tap. Much better than the bottles that I have opened so far. My local store did seem to get it about a week later than some other places in the area, so maybe it sat on a hot truck for a week in between? Who knows. Either way, tasted great off the tap. Time for that Ruinten on the back patio now.

Too bad. I've enjoyed the last few iterations.

Stapes - I'd agree that the April product was the best "Enjoy By" so far, though I've yet to find one on tap. I thought the Ruinten (on tap) was maltier and sweeter than expected.

Yeah, that is a little disappointing. Almost bought some the other day and loved it last year.

Have two local IPAs I really like right now: kettlehouse myrtle street on nitro and flathead lake brewing's imperial ipa.

Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids has it on tap right now. Or at least they did yesterday. Will probably kick fairly quickly. Also had RuinTen on tap.

All of the 21st Amendnent IPAs in cans taste the same to me. Hop Crisis, Brew Free or Die, and Back in Black all have some sorta factory taste I can't quite id. Closest I can come is caramel. Not really digging any of them unfortunately.

^ Try the Bitter American. Decent hopped up session pale - one of the better ones that comes in a can anyways.

Fish Water from Telluride Brewing Co was the best I had at the Brewers Rendezvous in Salida this past weekend. They also had a very nice RyePA.

I've got a coworker doing a Colorado trip and she said she'd bring me back beer. In in MT what can't I miss? I'm getting Modus, Maharaja and Gubna for sure. Probably Mexican Logger but I need more IPA's.

We used to live in CO so I'm just trying to remember what I used to buy.

Had some Elysian Dry Hopped Immortal IPA last night that was damn good. Little smoother than the normal Immortal IPA.
