It's Wet Hop season! Anyone try any good ones lately?

Had a Fresh hop RyePA at Boulder beer that was pretty nice the other day.

Sanitas, a new brewery in Boulder also had a nice Red brewed with Fresh hops. Y'all Boulder folks should check them out, over off Pearl, near the Scarpa, and La Sportiva warehouses. Good brewery startup, and a super nice taproom.

Yah Toppling Goliath is really hopping out in your area. Just had a Sdeudo Sue tonight at a bar in Hudson, WI. Their liquor store got 14 cases of that bottle and sold out really quick. I think they were somewhere around $7/750mL. Pretty good deal for a great beer from an up and coming brewery. Thinking about hooking up with my cuz and visiting an uncle of mine in Des Moines. The brewery isn't too far off the main drag (50 miles?).

Just tried the Not Mindbender Imperial IPA at Cannonball Creek Brewing in golden. Pretty damn smooth for a big imperial.

I had the SN southern hemisphere fresh hop. Damn good. One of the few SN beers that if you gave it to me blind, I wouldn't be able to tell it wad from SN.

The place is buried in the woodsy bluffs of NE Iowa's driftless zone and it will be more than 50 miles out of the way.

They are transitioning into a new brewery but a bunch of equipment just arrived so not sure how much production is going down over there yet but it is pretty limited unfortunately which is why finding anything besides Golden Nugget or PsuedoSue is pretty tough. The new brewery will have a tasting room and beer tours. The old and current brewery does not have beer tours but TG has a brewpub in town that is fun and is open daily till like 11 pm. We stopped in last weekend and they had the PseudoSue bombers for $6 and we grabbed growlers of Golden Nugget which I really like and Tsunami which my wife likes. Be aware they might or might not have any bottles available and when we were there this spring they only had Golden Nugget IPA on tap along with a bunch of really good non-IPA's. You just never know but all of their beer is good so bring a couple of growlers for sure.

If you haven't tried Zeelander try it! They had it on tap but only had one keg left so they wouldn't fill my growler and the last time they had it down here in Moose they ran out right when I walked in the door so it is as rare as a powder day at Keystone. It is a 'single hop Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand' and it is UNREAL. Sort of a massive dry explosion of hops in your mouth with a mid bitter finish. It is the only beer I've ever had that tastes like it does.

Store near me has 4 packs of hoptimum for 4 bucks. I assume it tastes pretty bad but I picked some up and they have a lot more left over.

Just had a Deschutes Chasin' Freshies Fresh Hop IPA. I've got to say I wasn't overly impressed. Quite light in color and had a saison character to it. Not bad by any means, just not great.

Green Flash Symposium IPA is today's winner.

Although my 7 year old can pour a better glass than the ditz behind the bar....

Had a bottle of 07.04 today too. It was just fine. Burrito shop didn't know what "enjoy by" meant.

Celebration's out, I guess that counts in the IPA sphere. Neither here nor there to me, but it's cheap.

    SARA's Simpleton kicked ass.

Is the Pyramid Outburst IIPA ok? Worth buying?

Jealous, strawjack! Saw that it also (recently?) became BA's #1 beer. So delicious!

Are *any* Pyramid beers really worth buying in this day and age???

    (Maybe Sno Cap)

Was in Bozeman last week. BBC Hopzone is good stuff. Much better than Big Sky IPA or Madison River.

I usually drink a few Snowcaps each winter, but have to say it doesn't do it for me like it used to. The Outburst is OK. To me it has a harsh character I don't like. It is cheap, though.

that's why I was surprised they'd sold out at the local shop and was curious if it was worth the time... because the rest of Pyramid's offerings blow.

Concur! Not bad in the bottle either.

I've been on the wagon all week. Looking forward to a beer in exactly 30 minutes.
