I think spook is entertaining. I am amused in hearing about his quest and remembering my own. My enjoyment is elevated with the responses he elicits from those with twisted shorts.

Chipping and putting practice went well today. I always walk off the chipping green after sinking one.

Speaking of forgiving, did anyone watch the Heritage today? They upgraded the Bizhub super slo-mo camera to 18k frames per second...they showed how true to center the pros hit it...and compared that to slight mishits from amateurs...it was unreal how much the clubs contorted.

cool. now we can talk about golf instead of you two trying to compensate.

Found out I won an eBay auction for a set of MP-64s with X-100s brand new for $670. Then went to Rancho del Aguila and shot 76. I feel like I'm living the he honky version of Ice Cube's "Today was a Good Day." I don't think I'll be putting any butts to sleep though. .

    Nice 76.

did the same eBay type of thing a few evenings ago, woke up having bought some 1983 Cobra 'Mild Steel' irons...all because i thought a 1 and 10 iron in the same set is pretty cool. Oh well, only out $50 or so...

I had a Pine Eye2 1 iron once. I think I threw it in a lake. I currently game the MP-67 which came with a 2 iron. I hit it now and again for giggles.

My grandpa used to say that in lightening you could still swing your one iron, because "not even God can hit one of those things."

Gonna hit the range a couple times this week and try to get a round in this weekend. Pretty stoked to get back out

The trick now is to bring and keep that feeling out onto the course. It'll happen. Bogies are your friend.

Went to San Diego a couple weeks ago, got out for 2 rounds in Carlsbad.

The Crossings was an interesting municipal course. Have to say it was in great shape. There were power lines everywhere but they never came into play, except hearing them buzzing. Here's our senior partners teeing off from the golds.

Looking back on a par 5. I don't think walking is an option here, some holes took over 5 minutes to get to with a cart.

Next up is Aviara, site of the Kia Classic LPGA. I swear it was a golf course put in a botanical garden. This course was a lot of fun.

Tricky par 4 with the fountain distraction. Just hit it over the tree in the middle.

Leaving after work tomorrow for a few days of golf. Wingpointe in SLC Saturday morning, may play 9 or more likely spend a couple hours at the range getting the early season kinks out, and trying to dial in/get used to the adjustments on the R9 SuperTri driver.

Then to Vegas, so far have a round booked at the TPC and a lesson with my old pro from Mountain Falls in Pahrump. May add Bear's Best, Golfnow.com has it going for $110 for a noon tee time, which still sounds a little early...

BOOM! Just found out that Bandon Dunes may be on tap for the summer. Wife will be near there for biz and we can wrap in 2 days of golf. Any recs on a reasonable accomadation plan offsite ? The onsite rooms are not as pricey as I thought if we can get in. Looking for any beta about the place actually. Must do/must avoid kinda stuff.

I checked out of this thread for a while, but can I just say this: if you aren't breaking 100... hell, 90, consistently, you don't need to be reading any books by Hogan or anyone else. That shit is so far from your current grasp of the game it's just going to fuck you up even more.

Bandon is a hole. Stay at the resort and chill. It's worth it. There's lots of info around here on Bandon Dunes. All the courses are world class. I'd skip Old Mac but that's just me.

Buy some local jams and they also have cranberry bogs there. The Oregon Coast is amazing and worth a drive to see the views.

Played this weekend, and felt like I has hitting the ball well, but was half to a full club short on everything. Halfway through I remembered that I moved from 5000' down to sea level... Going to be hitting more long irons this summer apparently.

As a former caddy there, I did a full write up somewhere, I think in this thread. My info is pre Old Mac, though.

I just watched an episode on the first world speed golf championships that were just held there. Kinda stupid, kinda interesting. Winner shot 77 and ran the course in 55 minutes. Don't know how many groups he played through.

not much difference so far at the range with the midsize grips, loving the uber sticky feel though, mucho mejor than the old ones. Thinking I'll regrip every spring from now on (or just buy new clubs!)
