My favorite part is when they report say 4" at 5:30, then update the mid day report to 8" then the next day the 24 hr total is 0" instead of another 4"

Been pretty thin. Everything above tree line is still really thin but the trees are finally starting to fill in. We are still hurting pretty bad but things are at least becoming rideable without worry of completely thrashing your gear. Hoping the spring is very nice to us. There is still a fire smoldering in the park which blows my mind a little bit.

breck went off today. some of the areas off imperial on peak 7 were DEEP. the 5 inch report did no justice except maybe at the base area.

such a good day, setting up so nice for this weekend.

^Nice. The wife and I are planning on trekking that way for the Sunday madness. Should be interesting to see how the crowds flock if the forecast verifies.

Anybody at Vail today and got a report? Judging by the BSB webcam, it looks like it might have been preeety deep.

Vail was great today. Sun down trees were knee deep although there was a bit of a persistent crust lower on the mountain. Blue Sky skied excellent as well, legitimate knee to mid thigh deep turns.

So what's the latest buzz on Saturday night?

Looks like westerly winds and a big band of storm energy moving from the Unitas to SE. My gut keeps telling me Steamboat....

What's it looking like at Winter Park right now? Going to be there in 9 days. Thinking about a Powder Addiction trip too over at Jones Pass, but not sure it's worth it quite yet.

Woo Hoo! Another 13 inches at Monarch. I'm doing a snowcat day there tomorrow, and then hitting the regular mountain on Sunday. Should be amazing.

Storm looks like it might be a tad further south. I think that's great news for Monarch and not as good for Steamboat. I've got a sitter so the wife and I can have a rare ski day together, it better dump!

MontanaSkier, it looks like Telluride, Aspen area and Monarch will do real well for Sunday AM. Models are certainly pushing the storm south.

However, seems to me we’ve been fooled a few times this year underestimating that good ol’ NW flow. Cold temps and strong winds in that direction and things just go off for Vail and ‘Boat, and that's still on track for Sat PM

which model are you looking at? GFS still seems like the northern half of the state is going to do well, but the NAM looks to have it a bit further south.

NOAA is really jumping off the snow bandwagon for the northern mountains. I hope they're wrong but the trend has been to weaken this system and send it further south.
