Yeah, we're enjoying it for sure. Good morning session up until the safety meeting. Then stupid kicked in. Lost a contact lens for 2 dimensional skiing, put skins on in the lot, left boots in hike mode coming down hill, came home with a splinter in my right hand and a serious Charlie horse in the left calf. So I guess I was training for AK.

Now I understand what your were saying about the contact. Great taking some runs with you. Its great to have you here this winter. You and Sequoiashan have a really sweet spot there.

    185 Daily Breads are gone.

Still have 171 DB's, 185 carbon hump backs( Brand new never drilled), and 171 carbon georges drilled and inserted for small dukes in like new condition(skied 5 times maybe).

Not too much help regarding accommodations, but if you are coming up midweek there is a ton of on mountain lodging that is empty. I would push hard for a good deal-ask about tickets at the end. A lot of the lodging is spread out-only place I saw that was close to ski in ski out was on buckboard if that is important to you-still would require a good ski carry to get to and from the snow. If you have kids, I would ask for something near the health club.

Sugarloaf has a good number of options open now with steeper vertical-just what you want with a dump.

I would keep a close eye on the forcasts-this one is a bit touch and go.

thanks, i had my big pack so the protractor was out early and often today.
nice photos TC. too bad my jacket ( and ski bases) aren't the right colors.

moeghoul, bummer on contact lens fiasco. that makes skiing much less fun, i know from experience. was wondering what the hell was going on...

great mini-pow day at the country club today. really hard to beat these mid-week storm riding days...

Anyone in mid-VT want to day trip to Maine for storm skiing tomorrow? It sounds like there's enough down already to have plenty of fun.

Winter did look back at the top of Lincoln Peak.

It's official - the wife and I are headed to Sugarloaf tomorrow. Hoping to ski Wednesday thru Friday. Would offer to carpool but the minivan (you did not know I was that cool, did you?!) is in the shop and I think it will be cold in the bed of the truck. Would love to make some turns with any folks who make the trek.

Its tempting, but 8-10 hours round trip and then a 9 hour trip back to PA on Thursday is a little more driving than I care for. Hope it all pans out for the powder chasers. I'll settle for some Smuggs leftovers in the AM. 36 degrees right now, no precip yet.

what cat said about loaf vs saddleback. no base at either cept for the snowmaking trails, which saddleback has only 6 i think. now there's a little base not tamped into a base yet. if a ton falls, the loaf is way steeper longer better than saddleback. just beware of the wind. sunday river had barely a breeze today and saddleback had lifts on wind hold. the loaf doesn't do much better in wind and gets a ton of it when it's storming. blowing over 10 mph in portland? all lifts on hold at the loaf cept for the baby lift oftentimes.

sunday river was very good skiing today. the 10-12" was perfect density for no bottom turns, even with 92 underfoot. was friggin cold tho, had to wear 2 longsleeves, a down jacket, and my shell. never left the snowmaking trails, but plenty were getting poached with nice rock scraping sounds due to no base. like fingernails on a chalkboard, yuck!

i'm done now till new years. spent WAAY too much time in the car for one day, or two surf looks very good starting wednesday, yay!

get to maine and go way north folks, the rivah may be a bit wet for this next one.

Hmmm. That's very tempting. I need to be in Springfield the next day though so only possibility for me would be a day trip. Long slog to ME, but sounds like it might be worth it.

Haha, I learned a long time ago to take care of all business BEFORE the safety meeting. At least you were out there.

    Never fails.

I have Monday-Wednesday off next week, plan (at the moment) is to drive to the rents (Poland) Saturday and back on Wednesday. It always snows right before and right after i plan trips, so plan to head out there around the 28th.

Hope the goods are still around Sunday and Monday, thinking the loaf if so.

Stupid is as stupid does! Those safety meetings can be rough. How else do you think I made the choice to huck my meat on AT gear and explode my bindings? Hahaha. Only going to get better from here! Wooot!

Also very tempted but as I told TC this morning, gotta focus on work for the rest of this week and then I'm turning on the out of office message until the calendar changes.

That said, hypocrite that I am and still pissed about missing today's country club conditions after literally gearing up and packing the truck only to get a call that shtooked the plan, Moeghoul, I might be headed that way in the morning for a few hours if the sky doesn't start pissing overnight.

Safe travels to all who are venturing east to chase, enjoy!

Watching how this develops tomorrow, seriously considering burning a few more vacation days and/or moving the xmas plans around a bit to hit this.
