I'm in for that. Even if I have to rent a bike. Although, I do have a lead on a new front shock at a nice rate. Hoping it might be in next week but they may be asking a bit. MTB mini sounds fun though.

Why am I up at 5 am on a Sunday? Chasing sick pow - no. Meeting Rog for an early surf session - no and a few years away from that in my newbie state. Hitting the trail early - no. The freakin wifey is up there chopping wood. Holy buzz saw. Good Morning. FAWK!

up too early myself. gotta hop on the bike and ride the 25 miles back to newmarket from the gals house in maine, then hop in the car to meet drew for lunch/beers in boston on my way to hurricane relief on cape cod.

the mtb ride n-con involves 2 climbs in the 1st 7 miles that are about 1500 vert each, all grinding up, hard to chat if not impossible, but oh so fun. the downs are redonk! then the real fun begins...........

looks like wv is gonna get pounded!

    time to saddle up!!!

    Calling BD - paint question.

NOAA and Sandy hosed me. Or just maybe my timing is off? Cutting it close? BD do you think I can get away with at least priming exterior trim today - using oil based primer? It is supposed to be only cloudy today but now there is some spit in the air from this storm?

Please charge me your usual consulting fee.

Edit: Nevermind. It is a full on steady mist/sprinkle now. Forget it. Damn. Time to clean up, gear up and think about a road trip?

I just got the craziest EMERGENCY MANDATORY EVACUATION text from 911 on my cell (Accompanied by ridiculous alarm) for coastal NYC. This storm is here. It is huge. Reports of insane rain pounding WV already, but will change to snow at midnight. Getting to GTFO or wait it out time for local storm chasers.

Yeah working on it... Boss was all up in arms about canceling work for "IF we get a little rain and wind!???!!"

Huh, turns out that I am in zone A. I guess my brothers motorcycle is fucked unless it learns to swim.

High tide is already 4-5' above normal full moon high tide and the storm isn't due to hit until late tomorrow. If the winds blow a big storm surge into Long Island Sound it could get kind of interesting. I'm just hoping all of the models are wrong and instead of hooking westward it keeps on heading north & east away from land.

I just got a boner! Biggest storm for these areas in NC and WVA since 1993! 20-30 inches?!!! Sustained winds of 80 mph + on mtn tops - drift much? Recommending that you have food and water for at least three days. Sounds like a damn good time!

BTW, I liked that weather guy.

But seriously - be careful all.

Wow, thanks Wolfe! Looks like it could be quite a mess down there. I'm still thinking of driving down to Snowshoe Tuesday night/Wednesday, but I'll keep an eye on how things look down there Monday and Tuesday.

Did everyone else abandon the idea?

sorry.. a little late checking in. Yes, too wet today, but things will dry out again... I hope. (We still have 6 or houses to finish this season!) And you are wise to use oil primer, but as you know, wood needs to be dry.

Coastal CT, NYC and NJ wishing you the best. Not to mention my home state DE... I remember stories of the hurricane of 1938 growing up. Seemed like a war had taken place. Hope everyone's prepared.

NmbrdDays, it was "No Matter What", the new one. I have a t-shirt I forgot for the raffle that has your name on it if you want...

TC is missing in action? I was hoping to catch a ride. Not sure if he is already headed that way? Check back with you on Tues/Wed - possible?

Not sure what exactly you are asking or telling me here, or if those were supposed to be complete sentences , but if you're asking about catching a ride with me, hit me up tomorrow or early Tuesday and we'll see how things look.

Our plan is to arrive in WV Tuesday night after the worst has hit (Monday night is when it going to be worst). Ski Wednesday and Thursday.

Someone else from this thread, was considering getting at Snowshoe tonight. He has no way of surrounding the path Sandy, so his best beat was now.
