Hardly. Working over there in the Valley this summer has put Angry Allen into perspective for me. He trolls at me with his little quips, and I make fun of him for being old, and sucking. Far from a melt down. Talk to folks around the valley, riders and such while building those trails, and Allen, everyone is stoked. Allen is an angry old guy. That's all there is too it. I have nothing to do with the design of the trails at Blue B. I just build. When Allen rides up on the designer...he ain't got shit to say. At least have enough nut to speak your peace. Allen just rides, and bitches. More of his community members you talk to....less he matters. Partial shullte of Darling Hill? Weak sauce.
Trails schmails. I took advantage of the gun-free week between moose and deer seasons and did a little exploring in the boonies with a fatbike. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. Tons 'o fun. Kind of like the difference between skiing trees on fat skis VS skinny skis.

Subject: Access next week if Hurricane Sandy delivers snow?
Hi, you're probably overwhelmed with such inquiries, but will the trails be accessible for skinning & skiing next week if Hurricane Sandy delivers feet of snow?
(And if the roads are passable...)

Not sure yet as this is really early...may open gates and take down more fence beforehand so we can get around....will post on the website or you can call. If it is skiable we will be on piste! Thanks! chip

in other words, ski anywhere ya want, whenever ya want. folks will surely be crawling outta the woodwork in the valley for this one, even if just a few inches fall. if it snows more than a foot, timberline middle front will be the place to go. 1000 vert of just enough pitch to handle the heavy deep. great trees too. more than 2 feet fall with some settling? miles o ridgeline from t-line to whitegrass to canaan valley ski area could be in play. hardwoods, hardwoods, hardwoods, go anywhere ya want.

This is definitely true. What I can't believe is that Angry Allen actually is thinking about this thread while out on his rides. At one point he stopped to take a picture of himself breaking a small branch off of a limp so he could come back on here and post it up for me. So while he's out on his ride, he's stopping to think about how he could be a troll on this thread for me. I mean, I'm flattered he's thinking of me, but rest assured you old, bitter root. You are very likely the last hing on my mind when I'm out for a romp on my bike. Our back and forth is nothing cmopared to the epicness of the Petric Wars and FIS vs ECRC. I'm just here for the pictures really. Unfortunately, this is one of the best sopts for shots of East Coast BC funn. The Peanut Gallery is just what everyone has to wade through page after page to get it.

Dude this is no good. She still has teeth if you can call those rotten niblets of corn teeth. This photo gave me nightmares:
Wet glop is not pow and for me to jump in the car for 8+ hours each way it has to be better than its looking . . . But again, there are no guarantees in life. Hmmmmm? Tower, this is flight 420 we are in a holding pattern . . .
Good day up in the Kingdom Trails boys! You're having more fun then me. House bitch!

Forecast for 4250 staying strong in WV. I'm thinking it could be pretty dry up high, but looking for the steeps is always a good idea.

deer stand lynchdogger. I can fill you in on all kinds of amazing stuff happening in my back yard. Speaking of which, closest I got this year was on my bike ride home. Don't get excited, its only 5 miles, although sometimes I will take the long way. I ride rather slowly, but I get to see this each morning in various ways...
the long way takes me out Bear Mt. there in there sticking up out of the morning fog
here's the guy who chased me. I think some of you would be a bit surprised at how fast a cow can run. Call him little Rog, he jumped the fence 3 times, same story, move to the side, I'd get like 10' past him and he'd kick in, run a bit behind me and then peel into the open field there on the left
anyway,
ride home,
late night at work, dark, fading headlamp, downhill, and BAM. 3 doe run out, 1st one is a silhouette, almost rear end the 2cd one, the 3rd on I could have jumped on. Which got me thinking tonight sitting there, could you choke out a deer? Now Rog, this is rhetorical for you of course. I don't think I could bare handed. A knife? a spear? Use the bike somehow? How do you even train for the next encounter to be ready?
Stick season is upon us. Lets remember more colorful times until it turns white. Time to walk in the woods, nothing left to look at.
Best of luck to you folks down south. Big shit storm coming it sounds like.
Nice pics KT. As for the raging bovine and deer chasing you, at least it wasn't mr./ms. bullwinkle, things could have gotten ugly!
Got you, still don't want to be trampled under foot by him regardless.
Was paddling on the Clyde this summer with the ms. and we came around one of the many sharp bends going through a pasture and found ourselves face to face with a full grown black and white quenching her thirst...can't remember ever paddling any faster in my life after hearing that snort!
^those are tasty kt.
Darling Hill was choice today.
how is it 'weak sauce' to park mid way?
if you start on Jaw roots> nice bridge work, onto Ridge which has wicked fresh new berm action.
then onto Pines etc.. to the mighty Kitchel, which was as good today as i've ever seen it. ride the road back up to Pound Cake>Fence Line> Pasture Point loop.
drag ass up Coronary, head for Tap&Dye. Sidewinder, Old Webs, River Run.
finish riding up Webs to the Chapel, turn around haul down Webs, come home on Borderline it is? that's pretty much the whole biscuit, three hours or so. my phone pics are not wanting to show, sunny and warm all afternoon.
place is still hard to beat.

i have to admit to being a bit perplexed at your groups ascent route given that i had just told weber, (after he very politely asked me), the easy way up while we were getting ready in the lot.
god those turns were d-fucking-lish, eh? up, down, up, down, up, down.........
well, will be good to see the legend again after soooo long.
