Current was really pulling south this evening like I haven't really seen before. Only being able to get out 3 times in the past 2 weeks really took a toll on me. Weaker paddling, not great wave selection.

Nice to have some nice swell in the water again, though, and conditions were not too bumpy at all. Some nice chest high waves, but could've used another hour of daylight

Swell dropped a couple notches, still some fun waves but seems to have less punch as it's pretty steep NW windswell with some occasional SW today. Light offshore this morning, Aggro crowd and a lot less waves to go around. Maybe session #2 coming up in an hour or so, thinking about SD finest beach break on the low tide, we'll see

Going out to Terramar again this evening after work. Air feels really warm after the last week's weather.

^Not very strong Santa Ana but it's pretty common this time of year. My buddy reports that Carlsbad is small, waist high or so. NW are usually bigger the further south you go in SD.

Glassy and 88 degrees at the beach right now, water is surprisingly trunkable and sitting around 67 degrees. Headed to Blacks to see if I can get a few fun ones on the incoming tide

Would love to head further south, but not enough time in the water with the 6 PM sunset.

Sorry Phatstix, not trying to rub it in. Days like today are why I deal with living in the concrete jungle of Socal.

It's odd this late in the season, can't remember it in late Oct. I was trunkin it last night after sunset without a chill or single goose bump, not normal

    Mega suckage this afternoon

    ^^Nice!! Love the Black's shot.

Scored Manzanillo(Rivas) yesterday at head+. The only boat out had my fiancé and my fly fishing gear on it. Forgot how juicy that place can be. Blew a drop, then the set of the day was coming at me, pushing me into the shelf. Eye opening, after being out of the water for a while. Heading to Yanqui tomorrow. Enjoy the last throws of Cali board short season!

Had friends visiting this weekend so mainly watched the surf rather than surfed it, but had a really fun session Saturday morning. My first time out with the offshores blowing, and I couldn't believe how much they affected the wave shape. Super clean, waist-chest high lefts as long as I had it in my arms. Sometimes about 10-15 mins between sets, but otherwise conditions at a random spot I've been eyeing north of Terramar were perfect. Only 3 of us at this peak, too.

Some shots of Black's (middle photo) and a NSSA surf comp from the O-Side pier I snapped (Saturday and Sunday respectively). The north side of the pier looked super fun if the competition wasn't going on there.

Hurricane Sandy swell today . This is inside the Chesapeake Bay right at sunrise Solo session . It was draining very hard . Took a ton of pics but it was raining so hard that the lens kept getting droplets all over it. This is at least 10 miles from the open ocean .Trying to get off work Thurs and go chase some early season POW in WVA from this same storm .Hope it works out !

Glad to hear you got some highway. Could not tell in the other thread if you surfed. That must have been a hoot. That looks head high ish. Would that be correct. My buddies are currently poking around some of the long, deep bays in down east Maine. Hoping they score and provide some proof.

Things have been pretty meh up in these parts. Small fall swells keepin us at head high, but the 12-14s period is keeping it weak, and the wind off shore are not helping. Maybe next week we will get what we need.

Yep , was def surfing it.Was about shoulder - head hi with some OH sets. It was angling in and sucking up off the corner of the pier and dredging .Able to get covered up pretty good on some of the better ones..Solo for the first 2 hours of light which kept it interesting .. .Saw some of those pickets on the handrail get bashed off and into the impact zone on a couple mackers . Hell of a lot of fun to pull under a choc. curtain in the Ches. bay.

Of course. My mistake and my apologies to the board. OTOH, I was never really a 9-5er, but I did have to go to work, and in those days, I tried to surf in the morning. Now I'm more of a 5:30 to when ever momma gets home-er.

Grabbing my board and going to see if I can find some shade under the lip, if I'm lucky enough. Get on it if you can
Just like here, but we might have a tad more size on the north coast. And some wobble. And a touch of warble, with a little junk mixed in. Oh, we we on't need to find shade, cause it is foggy. But, I am about to paddle out in an hour as soon as the tide drops a bit.

Maybe after your sis leaves its time to convince your wife that a live-in nanny is a good idea, still living the dream

    ^^^^^^perhaps a young hot nanny

Holy shit, where is everyone. Rolled up to the same reef I've been surfing the past few days. No warble, no bump, no people. Oil glass. Old swell had sets at head high. New swell a few feet OH and about 15 secs was making barrels on take off that rifled down the line. It was good. So down the cliff I go expecting someone to show up. Instead it was two hours of just me, the waves and the landlord. Finally got out cause I was feeling lonely.
