ROADTRIP......you are a worrier my friend.....way to kick the big C's ass and get your self ready for the upcoming season.....hope you have many many pow days....
DOWORK.....many vibes to your friend facing the same situation as Roadtrip......I cant wait for the day that they find a cure for cancer........
always forward but never straight
Now I need to start getting my ass in shape for the season. F/U with the surgeon on Thursday where I hope to get my release to start physical activity again. I am, literally, in the worst shape of my life right now.
Hoping to get the release from my oncologist to venture into crowds again (immunosurpression and all that) so I can hit up the NYC movie premiers.
....but that's short term. Medium to long term is I'll-be-fine-for-ski-season-so-bring-it-Ullr !!!
way to push through roadtrip!

Congrats as well on beating it. Whereabouts in NJ are ya?
As a brief aside, what's the east coast collective's opinion on the old prophet 115's? Found some leftovers at a local shop for $250 and thinking about grabbing them for a powder/tree ski.
had a pair of prophet 115's last year not really much to say except they do ski hardpack well ;-) Feels like a big fat GS ski IMHO
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was
Yeah, that's what I'm seeing a lot of. Figured that might make them a decent pick for the EC / variable conditions
Road Trip, great to hear your story of beating the big c! Now what about a road trip to Ullrfest where we can all celebrate with you in style? I would gladly see you got your own bed in a nearby house and your own spot at the ice luge (though you may have to fight off I've Seen Black Diamonds...) Obviously, your health is first, but consider this an invite.
Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!
You're bringing the biggest possible stoke to this thread. Could you come to Ullrfest in one of these?
These might be useful for eveyone at Ullrfest, given that 17" of rain is forecast for that day.
Also, is that guy giving me the finger? And is that a giant... boner holder between the arms and legs?

I wish I could! It's been too many years since I've been to a Ullrfest.... but I've seen black diamonds hit the nail on the head. I'm in an immune system bubble for most of the month of October as my neutrophils dropped down to barely perceptible levels. I'm hoping to get released for "mild crowded environments" by mid October (I'm inventing my own scale of immune system isolation...) so I can at least catch some end of October ski movie showings in NYC. But I'll be there with you guys in spirit. Frankly, I'm hoping I'm allowed beer by that weekend too. I'll crack a few open and toast y'all from 250 miles south.
Take pics and post the stoke.

Always awesome to hear about other cancer survivors. Considering the best we've got right now is to poison the patient with enough toxic chemicals and radiation to kill the cancer without (quite) killing the patient, it's amazing anyone survives. I was diagnosed with throat cancer in June and went through 7 weeks of radiation and chemo that ended the 1st week of Sept. Now that the tumor is gone, recuperation is still rough and I feel like you do, definitely in the worst shape ever. With Nov and Dec I'll have time to get some muscle tone back and I'll be back at Magic with a whole new appreciation of life and the joy of skiing.

Can anyone recommend a Stowe are boot fitter? I need boots and was going to go to Skier Shop but was curious if others have better suggestions. Thanks.
inner bootworks is probably the best in town... but i still wouldn't say they're great.
how tight a fit are you looking for? if i want to get a perfect race fit in a new race boot, i make the trip down to peak performance in killington... the best IMO.
for heat moldable liners in touring boots, i make a BTV trip and hit up OGE.

Jim, super sorry to hear this. Looks like you and road trip got the 12/13 season locked down with constant deep days for the EC roll call. We all owe you guys! Glad you are recovering steadily, those Worths still need to taste the magic woods.
I like inner boot works as well, had two pairs of boots go from pain to pleasure from them.
Lynch- glad you are following them to. Here is a youtube link showing the cattaraugus creek fishing in NY for the November trip. Let me know today if you can if you can make it happen.
