played a drunken 25 holes yesterday. probably shot 27 up. good times. i tell ya, its a fine line between "slightly buzzed, loosened up, hitting 'em nice and easy" and "woah, im shitfaced and cant really see, much less hit, straight."
it gets weird when the cart drink girl tells you its five bucks for a peeber and a shot of doctors.

i'm still trying to learn how to get my hips through, shift my weight and let everything else follow. in the meantime, i still have a tendency to try to kill it, though i'm getting better and am slowing things down, i'm casting and coming over the top. when i get my hips through and don't hold on so tight, it looks pretty good. i haven't played nearly as much as i intended, but i've practiced my ass off and have spent a decent amount of time in lessons and am understanding a lot more. not i just need to get my mind to get my body to do it enough it becomes second nature. hit 180 balls yesterday, plus another 100+ pitching, plus another hour putting. hit 120 day, another 60 in the bunker, another 100 pitching, another hour putting.

Can't sleep so I figured I'd post these of Buffalo Run. These pictures don't even come close to doing this place any justice. Already one of my favorites but I like it more and more every time I get out there. Shot a lame-ass 49 with 17 putts and a nine on the second hole. My head wasn't there but that's still no excuse for some of those god-awful shots.

    Pics taken 7-20

    Hole 1 - Par 4 362/Blue 412/Tips

    Hole 4 - Par 3 162/Blue 220/Tips

    Hole 5 - Par 4 391/Blue 453/Tips

    Hole 6 - Par 5 529/Blue 607/Tips

    Hole 7 - Par 3 171/Blue 210/Tips

    Hole 8 - Par 4 375/Blue 461/Tips

    Last tee shot sunset:

No clue what happened to two, three, and nine. SD card monster ate 'em.

Damn motherfucker , where are the cows and sheep .
First they fuck up a perfectly good pasture , by building a golf course on it .
Then built a bunch of houses , to really fuck it up .
But hell , I'm sure I would pay money to play there .

Par 3 courses are a good time. Went out and messed around yesterday. Nice way to get some practice when you don't want to do 18.

It's $9 for 9 holes late in the PM. We had a great time.

Wife and I got out to the local junior track (637 yards), Hyland Hills South, for a little short game work. I tweaked my grip a titch and, after taking a couple holes to dial it in, started absolutely hitting the wedges magically. Shot a five over 32 after going three over in the first two holes.

They name their holes on the junior and par three courses so that's cool I guess. Here's pics of the little baby:

    1 - Tiger Woods 55yds

    2 - Marv Mazone 50yds

    3 - Tom Morris 85yds

    4 - Arnold Palmer 80yds

    5 - Phil Mickelson 66yds

    6 - Jack Nicklaus 65yds

    7 - Bobby Jones 52yds

    8 - Sam Snead 76yds

    9 - Nancy Lopez 108yds

A whoooooooooole bunch of lob wedges and one 54 degree on nine.

^Nice. More hip turn and straighten that left arm a tad more.

I'm playing a Denver city course next Wed or Thurs so if anyone is down, let me know and I'll make the tee time asap. I'm open to where and when just gotta keep it cheap hence being tied to the city courses.

EDIT: Looks like it'll be City Park after noon. Wife's taking a half day and joining. Two spots open.

love those short 9 hole "executive" courses - what a great way to work on the short game instead of beatin range balls.

It may be an optical illusion but the left arm cant get any straighter.

Working on a full shoulder turn and clearing my hips so I do no get stuck on my way down. all about coiling that spring up with opposing forces between your hips and shoulders...I've heard 90* shoulder turn to 20* degree hip turn is ideal.

check Ror's hips at the top of his swing. but thanks anyways.

My biggest thing is too upright of a posture at the top, always has been.

His swing may not be the best one to emulate as of late. Yeesh. I kid. Sort of.

Your shoulder turn is to flat for your up right stance .
Try turn your left shoulder under your chin .
Hit some range balls with a headcover between your right bicep and your right side .
At impact think right elbow to right pocket .
The idea is to keep your arms synced with your torso .
It looks like you get your arms behind your torso and then you have to flip your wrists to catch up .

Never had a lesson but have been playing my entire life, I can touch 79 every now and then but its more or less a constant struggle.

may be playing this weekend for the first time in 7 weeks, unless wrist stops improving. Part of me doesn't want to rush it, the rest wants to get back on the course asap.

oh yeah, for the last ten days, but it's been immobilized for the most part the last 5+ weeks. Rehab started by me overdoing it, setting it back a couple weeks, now improving rapidly. Could open the front door and turn the key to start the truck today for the first time. Yippee. Fkn hate losing two months of an already short summer...

if you had it immobilized for 5 weeks and only 10 days of rehab, is golf the best thing so soon for a bad wrist? if it was some other part of your body maybe, but what's it going to do if you accidentally hit something really fat? or even just the swinging motion. have you swung a club yet?

Spending a few days with my brother in Ft Collins as I cross the continent. Haven't swung a club in 3 weeks. Can't let the chipping get rusty and luckily a green is off his back yard. I like to toss four balls to different spots off the side of the green and chip them on.

    Ball #4 went in.

Tonight, after the last golfers have passed, by we'll each take one club and play 3 holes with a $1 bet.

If you're still around Tuesday and feel like driving down 45 minutes for an $11 nine at 610p at Hyland Hills Blue let me know. It's a tad of a hike but it's a decent regulation nine and the greens are in good shape.
