Damn, that sucks. Slip on ice?

I'll do my part to make it snow by heading to Calgary for about five days starting later in the week.

Well at least it was for a good cause.

I popped my right knee out Friday just getting out of my car. I'm sure it was entertaining for anyone who saw me hopping around on one foot shaking the other leg to get the knee to pop back in place. Trick knee from hockey-playing days, but hadn't done that for years.

Still, beats getting torn a new one on a stump like the guy Goldenshowers mentioned. Yikes.

It's always the most innocuous shit that does it isn't it. I buggered my neck like five years ago coming up short on a big set of dirt jumps. Now it goes out a couple times a year getting IN the car....

Knees are weird. Several years ago I cranked my leg hard enough in a DH mountain bike crash to dislocate my ankle and my Patella (kneecap). Knee ended up being fine! Then about a year ago I twisted it going down on an icy sidewalk in the dark. It's just now getting back to normal.

Can anyone help me with touring options around Fernie -- ones that do not include buying a lift ticket? It looked like bowls upcanyon from the ski area could be accessed by hiking from the provincial park (but not going up to Island Lake Lodge)? Also, looked like bowls could be accessed south of the resort from the highway just in a pull out? I'm thinking of making a run up next weekend.

this is what SSV patrol/snow safety (and maybe fernie, and KH) use for weather data. WAY more useful as you can see what the snow and winds have done overnight.
For SSV "Stonehenge" is just beside wawa. Lookout is at the top of the dive, and Warden’s Cabin is in the village, beside strawberry. Gives you the wind, wind gusts, HS, storm snow, water equivalent of the snow, etc....

Any of you feel like doing some "skill development" laps at LL in the a.m.? Gotta be back in Banff at 1. Today was really nice....blue bird.

That is a perfect description of what LL was like this weekend. Took one lap down boomerang and whatever that little shoulder is called off its far side...."fun" is a good way to describe chopped up and re-frozen wind slab on tiny little rock skis. After that, it was a 'technique building' day of mogul laps

Oh well, Turnipking and I still had fun playing 'horse' down the moguls...and he owes me a shot for bailing off my line
