You have a post count of 333... Its a sign that you need some new high-end custom skis...

And Jasper is back to its usual wind-fucked temperature shrunk snow-pack. Great coverage but not like the epicness of the first two weeks.

Well, I come home on Tuesday so I'd say your post is worth more than you think!

Start by going to the "Staying Alive" presentation tonight at 7pm at the Senior Centre.
Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!

Google Rocky Mountain Freeriders. Too bad they don't have adult camps.

Pick up the recent release of Summits & Icefields. I would have suggested some stuff in there, however, since he put them in print there they are for all to see. I picked it up more as places that will become popular to avoid book.

And don't worry, the avy bulletin gets better in the spring. Don't forget even when that bumps down to moderate you can still trigger stuff if you don't know what to avoid.

Awesome morning at Kimberley. First day for the Tamarack chair, so didn't matter that it hasn't snowed for more than a week as there was still lots of untracked.

Also explored an area that was logged a few years ago right next to the resort. Mostly mellow, but fun with logs and stumps to jump off and sudden logging roads to face plant on.

    Beautiful early morning light, too!

Today, was 'bout 30 - 35cm at the pass proper. 100 - 110cm @2200m and supportive. Nice easy traveling, actually.. Alpine is windfucked to all get-out, but if you can find a nice line in the trees, Bob's your uncle. Near surface faceting + surface hoar in sheltered locations make for some nice skiing now. But again: TL and ALP are ugly. This isn't an aspect thing: very strong northerlies stripped the usual lee slopes back, too. Ain't nowhere that's good skiing above the trees (or if there is, no-one's going to spill it).

Just back from the Lake. Had fun on the groomers, but most of the off-piste was super crusty. We need some more snow!

Thanks CSG. That sounds dismal. Bob is always my uncle.

I get the impression you know a thing or two about the weather. Or at least you know where to go to get good information.

Out near Commonwealth Lake today. Saw some crowns and debris on windloaded slopes just above treeline. Talked to some guys who were skiing Tryst and Superslope. Word was Tryst was pounded (Isn't it always), and Superslope was nice but thin up top. Lots of surface hoar in the trees which was fun to ski, but soon as you hit treeline and above it was pretty windhammered. It was pretty windy above treeline, forecast I saw was saying 25km/h but it was blowing harder than that above treeline.

If there is interest we can make it happen. I run adult camps at Kicking Horse as well... What are you looking for?
