He probably won't until mid January again when they get isolated by slides and starves to death.

We'll have to take up a collection for an upgrade to an HD cam.

KH was veeeeery nice. The line up was foolish. Got there just after 7:30 and was on...ooooohhh about 10 or 11 or so, maybe a few after. Alpine was hit by winds but still skiing good. Trees were really good. The lower half of the mountain I found was outstanding. Not overly heavy, didn't feel any crusts while skiing, coverage was good...really really nice.

Oh hey Shorty-J, totally forgot to thank you for leaving the beer behind and asking if you had a chance to ski the Scarpa's yet. My mind was occupied with snow.

Went to Kicking Horse today to check it out. Talked to a few people. They said it was getting skied out by noon but groomed runs were good with the odd twig sticking out. Looks like I will be going for Sunday.

Funny how there is very little snow in Golden but as you make the drive to the mountain, you see it just multiply every few km.

Here a pic I got today.

Really? People I talked to said the line was about a 45 minute wait. Bah if 7:30 isn't early enough, I don't know what is

yeah something like that...maybe a few more, not sure exactly but damn...45 minute wait...penalty for sleeping in I guess. When we came back down to the base we ended up going in for coffee to wait for the line to die down and then hit up some slack country freshies.

Hey Shadam did you make it there? Didn't see you anywhere.

Pinter thought you didn't get on the gondola until 10 or 11 a.m.

Anyone know more about the skiers caught in an avy at the Pass?

I was at the hill at noon but it was just to check it out Eldo. I talked to a few people and they said conditions were great but the line sucked.

Based on the snow report, too!

Considering how WH2 etc at LL slid, the Dive has probably pealed off to ground. Ask again in early March.

I like to make videos...had to try out the cam. I'm going to make more, a video journal of sorts.

Looking forward to the journals Kev. Good job.
I assume the camera you are referringto is a handheld video cam based on that.
    What did you pick up?

T2C... glad you liked the beer. I haven't tried out the Scarpas yet... mid December at the latest for sure.

How was Rudy's? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this.
Goal: ski in the 2018/19 season

Nice video T2C. Line up looked a little crazy. This was the first time in 4 years that I missed opening day (dealing with a herniated L5-S1). Was noticing the big wide cat track on the chair ride up, is that on Stairway? No more "Traverse of Death" after the first couple of hours?

    Cheers,

    Treycal

Finally flew the towers for the peak chair in Fernie yesterday. Looked like it went smoothly, using a crazy looking dual prop. Russian made heli. Hope the rest of the install goes well, and we're riding that chair by new years.
Also hoping we get some snow soon, as the powder skiing is currently less than epic.

Yup...got a hand held and will be using that more than the gopro most likely on non rush rush days. Went with the Panasonic HDCTM900 and chose it over the Canon HFG10 for a bunch of reasons.

Us 3 and only 1 other person up there. Really nice.

They put a cat track in there so no more traverse filter...I think they put it in this summer.

Try Valhalla for spare buckles...if not then MEC sells them for a couple bucks. For straps is it something you can fix or maybe use to reinforce with some webbing off the spool?? Comes in various widths at most places that sell climbing gear.

Spririt west in Calgary is good with repairs. It's in Calgary near MEC.
