    Lobster Lesson
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

I know, I went a bit overboard on the tone mapping, but I've never done an HDR before so figured I'd go big or go home

I think you have me confused with someone who is far less awesome.

^ uhhh, I checked the EXIF data focal length on Mama, and I will say that this feels a bit like your photos from the Angora fire (all up in that bidness!). I'll just keep handing my lenses to you when we find sketchy perches from which to shoot skiing photos, right?

^ yeah we (and 20 of my closest friends) were all shooting the cubs when they started to head up the hill, so me and the girls followed. then the ma came shooting right by us up the hill to catch up with them. it seems like they're pretty much followed around constantly when they're hanging out near taylor creek (especially during the kokanee festival and with oktoberfest right down the road). i'm gonna head there tomorrow morning to catch them with better light and fewer crowds.

A couple of weekends ago, our little mountain here in NC hosted the USA Cycling Gravity Nationals. I shot the photo, friend tweaked it. Sun was burning off the fog. BTW, these guys are nuts.

A guy I used to teach snowboarding with at App Ski hill took the Cat 2 National championship that weekend at Beech. Pretty cool that they are hosting that sort of event these days.

Great event. I worked first aid for three days. Got to see Aron Gwin crash at my station, eat a tree, get up, and still finish second. He is wicked.

Congrats to your friend in Cat 2!!
