what i meant was, the day i skied them there was probably 18"+ of fresh. they were definitely a super fun ski in the deep stuff, but as soon as i hit anything tracked up or harder they just felt like shit. this coming from someone who skied megawatts basically every day and loved them for nearly everything.

Does anyone know know more about what their "honeycomb" tip/tail really is? It sounds nice and fancy, but something tells me it's just a BS name to make a cheap material sound high-tech (kind of like cap construction). What is this honeycomb material and how much lighter is it than the industry-standard UHMWPE that is found in the tip/tail of all the other high end skis? Salomon builds skis for the masses as cheaply as possible and I highly doubt they'd invest in an expensive material to make their skis just a little bit lighter in the tips/tails.

Its kind of funny how its automatically assumed that big ski companies only use shitty materials, they all have PPP. Huge orders of raw materials that the small indie companies cant handle. I love my indie skis but this ski is pretty dope. Its good and neutral sort of damp but all in all to just assume that they use shit material is kind of retarded. They use honeycomed cardboard in airplane manufacture the shape in itself is inherently strong so it does not really matter what it is made out of. And like you said its in a cap construction so its molded in. CAP is not really just a cheap alternative it has advantages and disadvantages like any other method of ski building, just give em' a go and see if you like if you don't get some Indie skis.

On a side note: Its total anus how freaking cheap ski shit is in the states compared to what we are paying in Europe. $480 is what the Rocker2 costs to buy from Salomon dealers in Europe. And the contour and Gopro are also 40% cheaper. If anyone wants a place to couch surf in Innsbruck Austria but are willing to bring 1 or 2 items from the states with them the deal stands.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

NICE!!! I got the 192's coming next month!!!! Feels weird thinking about skis cause its 10:00 at night and probably still 85 degrees outside.

Not to thread jack but what i am really looking to get my hands on is a contour and a mystery ranch pack for everyday stuff. Its the shipping that really kills on the products.

Brown Santa brought my 192's on Friday. Look sweet but feel heavier than I thought they would be. Thought they were supposed to be "light"?

In short: these things fucking kill it!

The shape, flex, etc.: Compared to most skis in the same category (Bent Chetler, S7, etc.) these things don't have very much shape. The reverse sidecut in the tip is very subtle, and gradual, and is almost non existent in the tail. The gap in the edges is done very well, and seems super solid. I was hoping the flex would be a little stiffer, but they ski much stiffer than they flex. The tips and tails do flap around while you are skiing, but the skis are so damp, that they charge, and never feel unstable.

Skiing: Holy shit these things are fun. As expected, they kill it in pow. They are the easiest ski to ski in pow that I have ever been on (including reverse/reverse). On hard pack the 26m turning radius rails turns by just putting the ski on edge. As soon as you put it on edge they want to accelerate, and love lots of speed. The really incredible thing is that they are super nimble all over the mountain, even in bumps. In crud and chopped up snow they seem to ski fairly stiff, and very very damp. You could charge through anything at mach 10 and it was like being on autopilot. I would say that all the stability comes from the super subtle shape and tons of dampening material they put in the ski.

Sizing: I only had the chance to ski the 184, but should get out on the 192 in the next few weeks. I've been skiing on the 190 Czar all year so far, and have been loving their 'crush everything in your way' feel. The Rocker2 is much more maneuverable, and generally more fun to ski all over the mountain. While the 184 Rocker2 was fun everywhere, I think the 192 will be the money length. Once I get a pair, all of the other skis in my quiver are going to get lonely.
do u ever ski k2 hellbent or JJ on pow? what u think? any compare?

I owned the HB for one day and sold it right after. I really don't get when companies put a slalom turning radius on pow skis. I've only skied the JJs for a couple runs, and found them too turny as well.

192 weighs 11.5 pounds. It's all underfoot though. So maybe with FKS 140 it's 16 total. Same as my megawatt with FKS180. Anyways I was curious now we know. I guess 184 is 10-10.5

Thanks Whyturn, got the 184 cm and was wondering where to mount. Front line seems like ski center, back line seems 5cm behind. Won't be landing switch. Was thinking 2 or 3 in front of rear line, what do you think.
